Sorry for the delay and the double post ! Exams are over and i finally had time to finish the thigh piece once rescaled. HD, no edge ID, no color ID for valleys and mountains, just working with my laptop close by. Here goes :

Here's how it looks on me. Seeing as I can easily put it on a large pair of pants, i'm pretty confident this time it's scaled right (please don't make me do it again, PLEASE !!)

See y'all soon with more pics of other armor parts. I'm saving the chest for last, once i've gotten the hang of scaling. I don't think I could deal with printing 40 pages, cutting, folding and gluing to end up with a 1/4 inch more needed...

So a friend of mine asked me if I could make him a Mass Effect N7 helmet. I seized this occasion to try out resin for the first time (that way if it doesn't work it's not my MkVI I have to repep and all. Here goes :

It's been curing for 18 hours though and it's still not dry though. How long does epoxy resin need to cure on a paper surface ?

Resin should fully cure after a few hours maybe 2 or 3 hours, but usually you can touch it and its dry after about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on how your mix ratio was with the resin and hardner, if it is still really sticky you can probably get away with reapplying resin over it again but this time use a little more hardner and it should cure over the sticky stuff, if its a little sticky but almost cured you can also get away with dusting it with talc powder and that will make it dry to the touch.....Good luck

Thanks for your advice Hyperballistik ! Great help there :D

slawrence : juging from what I see it looks ok, but I'm no expert here ;)

This is coming along fabulously! Have you had any problem with pieces being the perfect height but much too wide? That's my main problem with everything.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'v figured that problem out :

1 I scale the peices down just a tiny bit so that even if they don't cover the whole length of my thigh, biceps or whateva, it doesn't look like i'm floating in the armor. This will also leave more room to move around as i'll have more space at the joints. And as long as the under armor looks good, it should give a "lean and mean" look to the whole.

2 I've started working out to build up a bit around the chest and shoulders area to fill the torso in nicely instead of having to add tons of foam to prevent having a beeze xD

Shall I add pics of my now athletic body ? haha.
