well thank you for your rant and advice if I needed to make it over. I like the helmet as it stands right now. Today I saw Harry Potter and on the way home I got some foam mats from walmart in the sporting section for 20$. Going to remake the torso as foam I think and put plastidip on it for spray painting.

been working some this weekend. A little here and there and some progress made
Removable helmet padding:

Reign resining his helmet (his second one he made because the first one was wbar) wbar stands for warped beyond all recognition.

Thanksgiving break, update time!
23.jpg

finished up a new torso which is much more accurate and fits a whole lot better and leaves some of my shoulders exposed. I also finish up 2 new kneecaps that I needed to resize along with finish up my left should pepping. I'll update with more pictures once I get home.

this stuff looks pretty quick, I'm buying my Master Chief suit I'm not going to make it... BUT I do want to modify it with some body pieces from Reach and add some stuff on, good stuffs :)

Looking good! Glad to see that others are taking advantage of the Thanksgiving break. I really like the paint job on that shin and your pep work looks awesome. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more pictures.

Thanks, yeah, I told my parents I wasn't going to sit here and waste time so I brought all my pepping supplies to my grandparents haha. Most of my family is pretty impressed by it all and excited with the opportunities this type of work opens up for me in the next year at college. This suit was made amazingly well and keeps it shape even without support struts. It has about 6 ovals/circles which I think I pepped nearly perfectly. I'll upload more pictures once I get home.

Wow!!! that is awesome... you did a great job on these pieces. They look authentic. i like the paint job! keep up the work, id love to see it when its done!!!:)

A big picture update

Front of the torso, a horribly warped part by the support :/

yay, i love random sticks, mostly little wooden paint stirrers, alot of them actually end up as part of the suit

I like this build, i have no doubt that when you are done, the noble teem will have a leader. it looks great, and i feel horrible asking this but that dremel you have, what is it? (dremel 4000, dremel 300, 395???) sorry :( but this looks great, youve really worked hard on this and it shows, Id love to see pix once ur done... and all the in between, ill be following this thread... :) :) :) good job!

haha Thanks dmango. Great work on your build too by the way. The dremel is a 4000, and we also have a 9000 which is a big model but would not work with a wand so my dad got this one for his woodworking. Been working on the torso today, pics to come shortly, I'll edit this post with the pictures.
Beginning to work on the spinal part:

incredibly strong, picture after this one will show you why:

overall I put a total of 1 layer of rondo (2 in places it overlapped), 2 layers of fiberglass cloth (one after each section I rondoed and one after the first initial resin), 3 layers of resin = crazy strong. Any thoughts? torso still needs a lot of work.
