Woooot. The Forums Are Back Up. Anyone Know What Happened?

I think Adam was switching the 405th's servers. We have lots of traffic on this website.

I would say that the issue was with the server and database that the forums are on. The front page, 405th Source, was up. We've already made the switch to the new host, so I don't think the problem was there.

Well, there are few things that are possible.



MySQL error that could be related to IP Board itself, or the actual server. If it was simply a MySQL error, it was probably within the software due to an update Adam did, or just a bug in the software.



The other, probably more likely is that the database servers were down for his host. To my knowledge, 405th is hosted by FDC Servers, which in my opinion isn't a very good host for such a large site, but it's pretty cheap as far as I can tell.



Anyway, yeah the database was probably down...I didn't really analyze the error too much, so I can't be sure.







P.S. Adam, if you're ever thinking of switching servers again, I'd highly recommend Media Temple. The price is worth it.
