in my opinion yes he would live because if the MJOLNIR armor can take a hit from a gravity hammer and the shoulder and helm were damaged with cracks them it should be able to go to the bottom of any ocean. but thats just my opinion

i think chief would be able to but only for a limeted amount of being the fact of oxygen runing out but mabey there is some kind of regenerating oxygen tank hin that nifty back pack of his and the fact of presher building up as he moves down to the bottom witch would eventually make the suit implodes
