Halo 4 Foam Build WIP (first build)

Hey everybody! I'm back! I had to take a break while I finished my degree, but that just gave me time to plan. I found rainbowdash's foam templates and plan to use those as I move forward.

Here is the Master Chief helmet I ordered from Impact Props. Worth every penny!

There was a lip on the bottom that I took off with my dremel tool so I could fit my head inside. I also cut out the visor and installed an orange visor using Armory Props' tutorial to install it.

I used this stuff to mirror my visor:

Be very careful using this! Patience is key. Also have some paint thinner around in case of mistakes. I took a chance and used a dry erase marker to do the visor detail before I painted. I got lucky and I think it turned out ok, but I'll let you all me the judges of that.

CRAZY SUPPLY UPDATE!!!!!!!!

At work today, my boss was going through his old rolls of fabric and gave me 40 plus yards of wetsuit material that is blue on one side and black on he other, 5 yards of the same stuff just black on both sides then about three yards of this netting material. I have seen the netting used in other builds and I'm super excited to be able to integrate them into my build.

He most likely got it from a commercial fabric outlet, but they sell it at Joann's:

Dude! This is awesome!! Would you be able to say where you got the visor? And also I'm guessing your forearm piece is custom? If it is I would love some template because I've been hunting down a good Forearm Pep but I cant find one. Can't wait to see more!

The visor is just a standard motorcycle visor from Amazon. Yes the forearms are custom, but they were a scratch build that I had to scrap because it wasn't up to my standards hahaha. So unfortunately I do not have any templates. Sorry!

UPDATE!

I gave the helmet a coat of flat black and......

To solve my gap issue with the visor, I used some Crayola Air Dry clay. It may not work, but it was a new idea. If not I will just start over.

Ohh ok thanks anyway! I had a few ideas for the forearms though. I thought of doing the base forearms how you had it and then adding. another layer of 1/4-1/2 in foam to add the details. Some of the base forearm could also portrude the outer layer (kind of like the Shin Piece)

So I had originally planned to have my armor done for an anime/manga con here in Denver. That being said, I had made an energy sword with a paint job like the swords from Bleach. Here are the progress pics:

It is about 4 ft.

Hahaha yeah mine is about 40 inches long, but pretty light.
