@Hawkeye It is really heavy but its not meant to be worn like this. I will be making a mould and casting the boot once I am finished sculpting it. As for the shoe and shin being attached, once I cast them I can cut them apart to make them into two pieces.

Do you mean something like this? I designed/built it so that the pole can be removed to allow for the base to be placed on a table or Lazy Susan. This one is about a year or so old though.

You might wanna try using a thinner gauge metal. 18 gauge might work out a bit better, 20 is to thin and 16 seems a bit thick. Since it's thinner you wont have to work as hard to get the details in it that you want. If it becomes work hardened then its not going to have much, if any give to it...

When you put the resin on the outside, make sure that you use a FOAM brush. A regular paint brush, no matter how good you are, will leave streaks that you have to sand down later. You might also want to put the visor in the helmet. This will help to keep it from warping when you glass it...
