I received permission to post this so I am happy to show you all my process from my discord post!
I made a replica of the 405th logo from the standard materiel from my work, 12mm pressed PET felt board.

Under normal circumstances this material is used for acoustic dampening but I have a bunch of scrap that i save up for fun occasions, like this!
I created a layered pop-up effect by milling out pockets for hidden inlays and have the main logo be higher than the background.
These parts were cut on a precision CNC machine utilizing an oscillating blade to make it as accurate as possible
To ensure that the Logo takes visual priority I made the black text flush to the surface of the backer.
This one is a foot high. and around 4 feet wide, only weighs about 5lbs.

The colors were achieved by cutting the different parts out of sheets of different colors before assembling the final product

This was mostly a first pass so there are a few small errors that I will fix on future versions, which will include increasing the border size in accordance with the identity guide.
I would love to make one of these for each regiment but I know that any creations will require the approval of Asguardianhammer before I make any more.
also there is slight limitation on the colors I have available.
For the above I used 4, 20, and 24. The blue color was from an off-cut part that we don't typically stock

This was a lot of fun. I hope to make more

Great write up and even greater work. This looks incredible! I’m glad you got approval and can’t wait to see how this evolves. How hard would regiment logos be to add if you were to make one for each regiment? Might be a cool addition but I don’t know how much work that would be.

Drim suggested making it wider and having the main logo on the left (as it is now) and adding the regiment logo to the right, so you can have a variant for each one. I would need time to tool around with the size and spacing to make sure it is approved

Um. Yes.

Between this and the clipboards, you are giving me too many things I want to try with the CNC I just built.....

That "must stay focused, Brothers" meme is taking on a new meaning for me. I need to cut stuff for the rest of an Airbnb and a new foam suit before I start adding things to the list... Love the idea of this for booth setups though.

Looking forward to seeing the revisions and hopefully having one of these for Southern! Again, amazing work friend. Love seeing the effort and creativity here!

I already commented on this in the discord but I gotta say it again, this looks so cool and so sharp!! I love how clean it is and would totally put one up in my workshop if you ever made them for members instead of just booths. Keep up the awesome work with everything, can’t wait to see more!!
