Hey 405th,

This is Adulese (Spartan 074-Joe). Some of you may remember that a couple of weeks ago I began work on my Mark V armor. My Introduction topic can be found here. Well, now that I have reached the required amount of posts to post on this board, I thought it is about time I started my Armor Progress thread. So here we go!

- June 20th, 2008 Update:
<blockquote>Today I successfully completed all of my Pep Armor, excluding the boots which will be done after I post this update. Basicly, my suit contains a mixture of Mark V and VI parts. I used the arm-pieces, chest/backpack, stomach plate and helm, using low-detailed hand-plates, belt, leg pieces and boots. Here are some pictures:

Thanks. I personally like the Mark V a bit better than the Mark VI. Probably just because I spend a lot of time developing and playing Halo Custom Edition. Anyway, the boots should be done tonight and then fiberglassing should commence in a couple days.

PS: Anyone know how to scale the Mark VI low-detailed boots to fit a size Mens 10?

Go to the Official Pepakura Scaling Thread sticky and read Post#235. The boot size tester is the same as the low-def boot for Mk VI.

Alright, but how do I enter the length for the scale. I have been using the height for most of my scales.

There are three numbers on the lower right hand corner of the pep window. The largest is the length of the boot. Simply adjust the value of the assembled height until you get the desired length.

Ah, but what if the height of the boot is correct, but the length is not. The smaller it gets in height, the more worried I am to see if it will fit correctly.

@ Ral Partha: Thanks for the help. I just finished my right boot and it looks and fits perfectly. I have even come up with some ways to keep them from getting to much wear-and-tear, but more on that later.

@Mastercheif101: I believe I used 8cm as my height, which scaled them perfectly. However, you may want to measure your knuckle-to-wrist distance and use that as your height.

UPDATE:
Alright, I have finished all of my Pep. Today I went to my local Home Depot and purchased a 3M Respirator and Bondo Figerglass cloth and rosin. Tomorrow, I will begin my work. I'll be posting some pics daily so you can see my progress.

Yeah. You have to love the classics. Well, today's weather sucked so I couldn't start fiberglassing. Hopefully tomorrow is better and even if it isn't I'll be working in my garage with a door open.

Yeah. Boston is really humid and wet today. It should be better tomorrow though.

PS: Link, what part of Florida are you in. I was living in Orlando till about 2 months ago.

Hey man! You found me on RedvsBlue.com.

Looking good!

Thanks. Yeah I saw your journal link on your armor thread. I cannot wait for tomorrow. Armor building and a new chapter in the Red Vs Blue series. Woohoo!!

UPDATE:

Well I have just started fiberglassing today. Turns out today's weather is kind of a blessing, as it is suppose to rain tomorrow and the next day. I am starting with my lower arms, as they are the eaisist to rebuild. The first layer is turning out nice and I should have both arms completely fiberglassed/rosined with one layer by the end of today. I may be able to get some of the boots done as well.
