hey all. ahead of attending megacon orlando, i wanted to help the booth with decoration. i saw another on here had the Halo Infinite M247 made and that inspired me the OG turret from the best halo, figured another large turret is perfect for crowd interaction.

with no good files existing(at least none i could find) of the H3 turret, i figured id make it myself. now i havent touched maya in well over a decade, but im gonna give it a shot. once done, ill post the files for free.

still need sights, ammo can, ammo belt and handles.

current scale is 58in long x 45in wide x 50in tall. i plan on scaling it up a bit more

Looking so good already, this is gonna be a fantastic resource when it’s done.
thanks! cant guarantee its gonna be perfect. already leaving some details out and taking a few small liberties, but i hope by making it free, we can see more large props at all our booths and generate more interests.

have you thought of making it functional? Cause that would be pretty epic!

You gonna make them into STL files for 3D printing?

I'd make one for Toronto and Montreal cons
yup. i plan to slice them into a fashion so that it requires minimal support, large pieces, but still able to fit on an ender 3(medium sized printer).

I would certainly take on making one of these for our Ohio conventions, I also favor the H3 turret design, well done!
do it. props make everything look cooler. my guest room has an armory on the walls. good way to store props nut it just looks cool too, lol.

eventually i want to make it functional but im currently still relearning 3d modeling. its been a bit since college.

i plan on keeping the files up to date, so it'll be a working copy. ill post them on thingiverse when I've been mine.

I feel that lol, best of luck mate

been a bit busy on top of my dumb ass self did like 7+ hours of work, for the power to go out. and i didnt save....... just a bit of an update. im planning to leave off a some details, like the ammo can, feed belt, and a couple of other smaller details.

may or may not do the sights. with its scale, i dont know if id be able to print and finish it in time for megacon, along with making sure my my halo reach trooper and final fantasy blue mage cosplays are done.

current scale puts it at 72in long(front to back), 62in tall(ground to top of shield), and 53in wide(leg base width).

leg core will be 2in dowel rods.
mound hinge is a 2in dowel rod.
leg hinge is 1in dowel rods.
leg lock is 3/8in pin
