heh Yeah it was a MONSTER on detail >_<, I would personally say a single step up from the Sniper rifle being near the top of the toughest paper builds ive seen or done..
But finishing this will give me an inventory of
MKVI Low def suit:
1.Helmet(pepped)
2.Right shoulder, forearm, and gauntlet(pepped)
3.Left Shoulder, forearm, and Gauntlet(Pepped)
4.Crotch plate and belt(pepped)
5.Anti-Vehicle Weapon Model VI Grindell/galilean Nonlinear Rifle(fully pepped)

WELL folks, guess i should give at least one update a month... >_>
anyway, it looks like the projects taking a backseat for the month due to vacationing XD
As well i ran into a little problem, Resin....is not a long lasting substance once activated, therefore my brush that i was using to resin my armor has become a....well a rock XD
SO ill have to go out and buy like...$20 bucks worth of 10cent paint brushes to get all my armor done >_<, yeah..pain in the butt.

That Splaser looks like a PITA to finish. Good job on that, I would have scrapped it long ago just out of frustration. It's freaking huge, too!
I'd like to know why you're doing low def parts, though. After that Splaser, you could easily tackle all of the HD parts (including the FS torso) with ease. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
Also, after you get a coat or two of resin on the Laser, try cutting it lengthwise and adding some fiberglass to it. It might be a bit harder to match up, but you'll be very thankful once you drop it somehow and it doesn't crack into bits and pieces. Alternatively, try expanding foam.

Yeah i had that idea for the laser too, adding in some A-B Foam to the inside and a nice thick coat of resin on the outside with detail to the edges and stuff.
And on the armor....well the helmets already being resined XD so F that, but i might do high def on the others if my fingers and mind can hold together to finish them XDD
But i might redo the torso agian in HD, and the thighs and boots too...maybe the chest, thats gonna be a SON OF A *ITCH!!! >___<

Trust me, you will hate yourself if you have to make all of the helmet details yourself. You'll cut about a month of work and ~$25 in bondo if you just pep a new helmet. A coat or two of resin isn't very far in production, anyways.

Which is why you buy them in bulk, and buy the cheap 1 dollar ones. And foam brushes will work, personally I think they're better than regular brushes.

they don't get eaten up by the resin. they absorb about 5% of the resin you use and after your done they become a black funny shaped rock. I've made 3 suits using these brushes and there much more cost effective then bristle brushes. on the other hand if you brush really hard the foam starts to shred..... hey like i said there a buck for 10 lol

Thats just it, i bought one of those big bulk bag of foam brushes, and after about 5 minutes the mix got So thick and gooey that the foam just tore off in the cup and hardened with it, then i was left with a plastic popsicle stick with some black stuff on it XDD.
and i can get some home paint brushes for like 60 cents each or so at walmart. heh
