lol they can be mean
there one of the most aggressive turtles in the wild and sometimes in captivity. there head when tucked in in less than a second can go from tucked in to almost the back of there shell and back tucked in for self defense. me and my freinds can attest to that lol
but usually as long as like any other animal you take time to handle them and be not really just as aggressive but not be afraid to pull your hand away youll be fine, because your taking the time to let it get to know you and you get to know it.
