Audio For Armor

Our armor has speakers that very easily connects to an MP3 player. We want to pipe some music through it while we celebrate the coming holidays with our neighbors and friends. I found this track (Halo Techno (Combat Infected Remix)) on Youtube. I watch this clip and listen to the music and I get really motivated, but I'm wondering what you think.

I tried the original Halo Theme, but it's hard to hear (it's a softer sound). This song "pops". I was thinking since the running time is 5:06 minutes, I could just repeat, but I'd also love to hear audio suggestions you might have (kid/public friendly, of course).

I really love this video. I apologize if it's already been posted. I searched the site and didn't find any other thread that covered this topic (and audio suggestions don't exist in the stickies) and I hope I put this post in the right place. It doesn't REALLY fall under armor making, so I thought it safest to post in the general discussion.

I think its kinda hard to tell that its the halo theme song. I would try to get the halo mjolnir mix right at the rock solo.

I put speakers in my chest and blared the halo theme at the last convention I went to, just hook it up to my iphone and played anything I want thats on the phone, its great fun I was even goofing off with the 501st guys and my phone saber

REAL Parents don't mind doing something outlandish to make their kids laugh. Besides, most people in the neighborhood know we're working on this armor - and they're just as psyched as we are! They even come over and check on our progress (talk about motivating)....and while the paint jobs are "unique" and the quality pales in comparison to the more "expertly" made armor displayed on this site, we're really enjoying it. The audio is the finishing touch.

Since my armor is supposed to be Caboose from Rd Vs Blue, I wanted to put a bunch of Caboose 's quotes on an MP3 player and have that playing through my suit's speakers randomly.

I just put together a sampling of the best and most recognizable Halo themes on a cheap dedicated MP3 player. That way I don't have to worry about non-Halo content getting mixed in...

I also downloaded a bunch of character audio clips from the HBO archive which I may drop in there just in case. I was disappointed to find out the DCon has a strict "no licensed music policy" and will make you shut if off if they hear you...

That is totally awesome! I'm installing speakers inside my breastplate so I can hook up my ipod and blast halo-themed music, both from marty and fan-made. This would be one of my favorites if I had a track like this.

i was just thinking i knew this song, its not a Halo theme at all... its from infected mushroom and its more than 6 years old. i have this album out in the car, i should have thought about that.... oh well for the audio i like the idea of the mp3 or ipod dock in the chest but it may be another good idea to put the speakers in the tower vents on the shoulders... idk just a thought

@rvb18 - Good suggestions. I never heard of Disturbed (Indestructable, Conflict). I'll check them out. I haven't listened to anything done by Metallica in a long, long time. In fact, it was a sad day, going up to my doctor's office, they were playing an instrumental version of "Nothing Else Matters". Sad day indeed LOL.

I've always associated techno with gay bars.....It's an irrational association, yes.... But if it's for the armor wearer, and the wearers like me......

It could very well ruin the experiance...

Look. I appreciate your candor and I'm glad you found my post interesting enough to respond to. I'll admit I'm taken aback. I come a different culture and level of tolerance. With that being said, I truly believe you didn't mean to offend me or anyone else in this forum. But, in the future, please be mindful that "gay" people are welcome to post on this site - they make armor too. They can play Halo just as excellently as others. This question pertained to music - in the spirit of Halo. Thanks.

I'm completely undecided about my own suit's "sound" as of now. Maybe opera...who knows.
