I dont have health insurance, Ive been living with the pain since Christmas of last year (when I was working for UPS). UPS wouldnt cover for me and my jobs since then dont really offer me much help... I'll jus thave to endure this for the rest of my life >.< Thanks for the 'get well soon' Tracy. I might still be able to sit through a few games of Halo if your gonna be on tonight :]

I also know how the job thing goes - did it happen here? Did you file a report? No? Well then there's not much we can do...that sucks. Trust me, it could be a lot worse! Stick with ibuprofen (and maybe an adult beverage or two) and that should help. Also a heating pad alternated with an ice pack will do a little good. I'll probably be on in an hour or so if you feel up to it.

Sounds nasty, hope your feeling better soon.
thought about seeing a chiropractor? I used to (and still do sometimes) have back and neck problems, and they fix it up pretty well!

[medical advice]

Hm.....i had a slipped disk in my lower vertebrae, and i pulled a muscle in my lower right back (both karate-related BTW), but you really need to get health insurance if you are in the USA, even if it is expensive, because mostly all doctors/hospitals will deny you, and you really need to fix a herniated disk if you dont want paralysis later in life (because you probably are right now)
Screw motrin, take some Vicodin or Percasets or other heavy sedative. also, get a friggin back brace and keep your weight off of it (as if that will happen). Sleep on your back, it relieves pressure on your spine. Take 2 heavy pain killers a day, avoid alcohol if you take the pills (its dangerous, trust me) and i know the pain will go away in a few weeks.

lol if you have a wheelchair now is the time to use it, im sorry about the injury kelly, that sucks big time.

im not a doctor or anything, everyone on my mom's side of the family is a nurse in some way, and that is the advice my doctor gave me when i pulled out my back, it will hurt. But, i still had to go to high school through the pain. That nurse wouldnt let anyone home unless they were dead. ugh.

Yeah but free, doesn't mean good ^^

I was completely immobile, on a bed for 13 hours before seeing a NURSE. The doctor came 1 hour after.

The bad news is that I still have those problems, but hopefully, the US doctors are better than those here :D

Grinding disks eh? Dr. Microbe will come on over to fix you up good. Nothing some duct tape wont' fix. Duct Tape fixes everything!

But seriously, I would see a chiropractor. It may be expensive to fix you, but hey;

money < health

My mother has health insurance.. Yet when she sliced her wrist open on broken glass, she sat in the waiting room for 12 hours before seeing anyone..
And when the male nurse came to stitch her wrist, he did a horrible job. I felt like slapping him and doing it myself.

Oh and while we waited, I would walk back in forth to the caffeteria, I saw doctors "on break" all the time. One was leaving to go play golf.. I felt like jumping him!

euhm belgium haz free healthcare

I think everywhere but the US has universal gov't-provided healthcare.

Not "free" per se, since they increase income tax and stuff (Denmark's is like what, 50%?), but at least you have it.
