Lovely list, can't wait to see this work done! Have you tried adding a thin layer of felt in between parts that hit? It will reduce the noise and paint chipping in between parts, especially around the legs. Joann's has some small sheets for like 50 cents, so maybe it could help!Alright, so something I'd love to do with this suit is get it deployed at either a tier 2 or tier 3. I've got some work to do before I'll be ready to submit an application so I'm going to make a checklist of things I'd like to work on over time. This is mostly for myself, but any other thoughts/ideas anyone has are always welcome!
Yeah this list is a lot, and it's subject to change, but it's good to have it so I don't forget anything! Also, if any deployed members happen to see this and could offer any tips on anything they see that could be improved I would greatly appreciate it!
- Add scratches/weathering
- Install lights
- Install helmet fans
- Add more padding to some armor pieces
- Calves
- Biceps
- Forarms
- Recenter helmet (Currently sits too far forward)
- Make a new visor (Vacuum-form)
- Repaint attachments
- Add decals
- Add missing black accent paint
- Side of calves
- Forearms
- Boots
- Improve neck seal
- Maybe make/buy rubber one
- Combat knife
- Find a better place to install it (current position severely restricts left arm movement)
- Find a better method of attachment (hot glue fell off on first wear)
- Improve belt
- Attach pieces together, crotch and butt fall off too often
- Incorporate abwrap to build
- Maybe attach belt to abwrap?
- Add side pouch on left thigh
- Finish M6G Magnum and magnetize to right thigh
- Improve foam chest gasket
- Strengthen seams
- Hide hot glue
- Plasti-dip
- Improve magnetic back plate on helmet (difficult to put on by myself, likes to fall off)
- Add hinge?
- Install magnets into the pieces rather than sit on top
- Improve boots
- Add straps to connect front and back to keep front from slipping off
- Add foam on the inside to keep back from sliding around
- Find way to make them quieter
- Attempt to make suit less noisy
- Suit is 3d printed so it's bound to be noisy
- Maybe add some foam in between pieces so they won't clank together

I haven’t thought of that! I appreciate the suggestion, thank you!!Lovely list, can't wait to see this work done! Have you tried adding a thin layer of felt in between parts that hit? From the pictures I've seen of your armor I'd definitely say you've got Tier 2 in the bag! We've got a pretty similar build so let me know If there is anything you'd like to see from mine or if there is anything I could help with. Like I mentioned before I did like your knife placement in your original posting so I can show you what I did to make it work.Alright, so something I'd love to do with this suit is get it deployed at either a tier 2 or tier 3. Hey, just saw this! What kind of issues? Anything I could help with?I've printed this same armor by NerdForgeDesigns. I've had pretty significant issues with the arm parts.
Your thighs are scaled properly. If anything you could raise your space diaper and place it bit higher as it's sitting quite low. That's why you probably thought it's the thighs being too big.Hey y’all! So I keep looking at pictures of me in my suit and I can’t help but think that something looks off proportionally, but I can’t figure out what it is. What’re your thoughts?
Edit: Just compared my pics to in game MCC. I’m now thinking maybe the thighs are a bit too big? Still not sure though lol
Ah just issues with arm fitting and movement. My set has been finished a while so I have it all fixed. I had to do alot of sanding and cutting on the forearms especially. I ended up just settling with elbow movement around 90°. So far it all works well for me.Hey, just saw this! What kind of issues? Anything I could help with?
Yeah I remember having that same issue. Unfortunately that's about as good as you're gonna get with 3d printed armor lolAh just issues with arm fitting and movement. Ya, I just learned to live with it. The only "big" issue I deal with is getting the gauntlets on. I have rather large hands, so I have to really squeeze into them lol. For the most part though, my armor is fairly comfortable though my undersuit insulates a little too well.Yeah I remember having that same issue. Yep, I’m exactly the same way. Big hands are hard to squeeze through the forearms. I’ve see people use different methods of making them open op and clamp onto your arm, but I haven’t dared to try anything like that.Ya, I just learned to live with it. I decided not to do that as they need to be secure for the forearm attachments. I use heavy magnets so I can exchange them so they need to be one piece. I just kinda tuck my hand into my sleeve and force it through lol it hurts a little but it's secure for sure. Haha it's painful to be prettyYep, I’m exactly the same way. At HOD 2019 we were allowed a "behind the scenes" look at the armor that was made by Blue Whale Studios and they had this incredible way of separating the wrists to allow your hand to slide in easier. Cutting off that bottom cuff and adding elastic band does wonders! I plan to implement that into my own armor during my overhauls.Ya, I just learned to live with it.
