Just to let you know, that file is incredibly inaccurate. If you're looking for a Fett rifle on the cheap than you'd probably be better off trying something like this

The pic's show some great detail, I just don't have the money and time to get that deep in at this point,



I just want a pdo of it , having it all their on the screen to print, cut and glue

Not taking anything from the desiger work! Cutting pipes and sanding add up to time i just don't have

I wouldn't recommend building it, as it is too ruddy complicated.



I'm working on a more simple model if anybody is interested. (I'm just using that one as the template.)

the guy is a 3d artist and apparently uploaded stuff for research purposes.



should we as a forum be allowing this to be used in this way without the express consent of the original modeller?

Crap! I just saw that. I've taken down my link, for I don't want to infringe upon anybody else's work. (As he obviously put a lot of work into it.) I will finish my version of the model and post it when it's done.

unless you have sought and gained the permission of the original model maker; you are on kinda of shaky ground.

I mean, we are all kinda of on shaky ground with HALO and SW stuff, but this is from an individuals own work?

Reading the disclaimer, it seems safe to use the models as long as there is no personal gain. If you pep a gun for yourself, you should be fine. If you mold, cast and sell that gun, you'd be moving into the shade.



My guess is that both the disclaimer and message bit are to protect the website if someone sells a bunch of props and gets slammed by George Lucas. If the lawyers trace the models back to the website, they won't be in as much trouble with the disclaimer there.

the ".......may not be re-distributed for any reasons" is pretty explicit I think - whether or not there is personal gain.



you are probably right that the disclaimer is as much to protect the modeller and his site.



but I do know a few modellers, and unless they have freely said "yep pls use my models" it is probably polite to at least let the original modeller know.

Okay, sorry for the ruddy long time. (Had a lot of stuff going on, midterms, a 3000 word research paper.) Anyway, here's a relatively rough model of the rifle. I used the dimensions that the other guy did. I will go back and use the pic that you guys just showed me, when I have the time.

Yah, sorry for the lag time. (Taking 3 advanced college level courses as a junior was not a smart idea... especially when you're on a system that does a full year of material in one semester.) I'm finishing up the blaster. I should have it out tomorrow night or friday morning. I just have to finish up the scope, tweak it, and convert it to a pdo (or .obj) from there, you'll need an unfolder, as I really suck at unfolding.

It's in an .obj file, so it still needs an unfold. I'm guessing Jason02, BrothersDarkness (but I believe he's a bit busy), Harding29, or a number of other people could unfold it for y'all. If any of you do, just add a modeled by Sniperbaas392 in there. (If you guys do a request to anybody, be sure to give them the dimensions and let them know to turn the textures off when they're done)
