This took a while, turns out I forgot how to use Umodel.

I converted the thug helmet to 3ds and obj, this is the right one, right?
If anyone is gonna use Umodel to unpack, heres how I did it.
Put umodel and the upk file in c:\umodel.
Then open cmd and goto c:\umodel and type:
umodel -export -path=C:\umodel -noanim char_BanditGrunt
(change char_BanditGrunt for the name of the archive, no extension)

Yeah and i use fiberglass mat.
Its to thick to bend in the corners but ill just fill them with bondo instead.
