so basically you are doing your own templates , then you transfer them to the vynil same method as foam but how are you going to keep the details in place?? sorry ive never worked with vynil before. sewing?? normal glue gun?

Unfortunately it is difficult to sew things onto a stretchy morphsuit and I do not own a mannequin... So I am hot glueing the pieces onto the suit while wearing it...although it works, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this method...

I decided to go with a casting of the helmet due to time constraints, have a lot of work to do on the Reach suit reboot...
I bought it on theRPF. This visor is not final, just a tester, I have a gold visor coming in the mail but it should end up something like this...

Sooooo, having the halo music playing in my own head the whole time I was at supercon last year just wasn't good enough...so I installed a cheap mp3 player with a really really loud little speaker...now halo music will be playing in everyone's head at MegaCon...hahaha

freaking amazing suit you have there sir and i am just nitpicky about one tiny little thing because i'm crazy. those freaking wings on your cod piece! I made the file awkwardly and originally had no intention of releasing it but did in the end, i did design it for that ab as well, but i just wanna take those little wings and put em in the right spot! BLARG ITS MESSING WITH MY BRAIN!

That speaker idea is dope! Does it feel really bulky though? I wonder if they make a flatter speaker that would be easier to incorporate

Haven't had the chance to try it yet, but here's my idea for a hex patterned visor:

Get a spray-on clear coat that works on the outer surface of the visor without melting or ruining it. Test it on the edges that wouldn't be visible through the helmet anyway to see if it works and if you can still see through it...

Then use your hexa pattern to mask it out and just spray the entire surface of the visor. The clear coat should add a slight change in shininess and reflectivity and there's your subtle hex pattern with a completely gold/amber visor.

Hot glue, but work quickly because it does melt.


Sooooo, here's an update on my Reach reboot for my friend. Most of the suit is done, I will try to speed build grenadier torso attachments but I am running out of time. I started building the foam commando helmet as well.
