I'm all for battle damage, and I do like the construction of your pieces - but what's with making everything look like you just went rolling through a sandpaper factory?

This looks nice :) Pay no mind to the negative comments, do what feels right :)

Who says I was being negative? I'm simply offering an opinion - that much battle damage seems excessive.

Not all critique has to be 'wow, amazing!'. That's called a hugbox, and I don't believe in simply letting people hear what they want to hear. Nobody ever improved that way.

I did not take it as a negative comment >__> Plus I will use this "extreme battle damge" on my future armors because not everything has to be all new and shiny to look good.

I agree with Arcanine that negative feedback can be a helpful critiquing tool, and that the builder can learn from it. Far too often, I see sub-par builds getting great praise; not in this case, but other threads on the forums, I think that with the medium you've chosen to build your armor with, you're doing an incredible job.

To be honest, I'm also in agreement that the battle damage seems excessive (there is a happy medium to achieve a worn look without going extreme). However, that's just my opinion. It's Cheifer's armor, and he's building/detailing it to his liking. Opinions can be voiced (that's why we're all here, right?), but what to do with those opinions is ultimately up to the builder.

Keep up the good work, Chiefer.

If I ever post a build thread, my pieces won't have any battle damage or worn look. It is just my preference, so I am at the extreme other end, but it won't bother me to go against the grain. I happen to like the "extreme" damage you h and maybe you just got out of an extended stay in the bush.

Looks like it's survived a havoc nuke :D. Kudos for pulling off what you aimed for man, it's a truly unique look.

Thank you xd but the truth is a rushed it a bit at the end but it does look differently when everything is put together. :D

Is the damage on the helmet from an energy sword? Great looking build.

A energy sword would not cause this kind of damage so I came up with this - It was done while my Spartan was fighting a giant ferocious animal with big claws. I hope this answers your question. :D

It does. I think the armor's story is an important part of the costume.
