My GF and I bought tickets for DragonCon next year and we thought we would dress up for it. I suggested Halo but while she enjoys watching the Storyline when I play, she isn't that into it. We chose to go as Iron Man and Iron Woman. We also hope to have ether a Stormtrooper or TOR Trooper and Commander Shepard Armor as well. We are using Eirth's Iron Woman patterns for for the chest and cod pieces, otherwise using Sekkei's Mark 4 for her. I am using his Mark 6 Armor. We had some failed sizing attempts, but thanks to a little help and learning about the point to point measurements, it looks like we have now the sizing fixed. Right now we are using Fiberglass Resin but as we don't have an outside space we can heat in the winter and I will be traveling come Feb, we will be using EpoxAmite so we can work in side the house. We will still sand outside however.
As the US Government is shut down, and my contract suspended, I have PLENTY of time to work on this right now. We bought a Silhouette Cameo to help cut the patterns out as we both have wrist issues and the fact that it cuts the cutting time by at least half. The only issues we run into are some of the more odd why the hell are there cut points right there but it works great otherwise.
This is where we sized everything wrong. We are using them to practice Resin, Rondo and ensure we can make the parts correctly.
Here are the forearms that we have finished.
I completed the left foot yesterday
and the left Shin
Not looking to bad despite the burnt fingers and other parts because the glue gun got too hot.
