Comic-Con Armor Palooza! Half-Way There!

Just a quick update- finished pepping the backpack. I prob won't post anything else until I start the fiber-glass/bondo/painting steps as looking at straight pepakura can lose its flair Any way, Here's the pack:

The v2 (Left) is way more proportionate than my v1 (Right) haha

Like I said, I won't be updating this until I have some TRUE progress with the final stages- but keep watch for it!

Nice! I was looking into getting the mask he had for when I play MW2 haha. I think we're just going to make custom detailed suits, rather than creating one from the game. We'll use diff parts from separate characters though, like the sniper goggles, backpack or Buck's comm link. Maybe we'll run into you there

Oh wow, that's like a perfect match! Thanks for the link But yeah, I had the same thought; I know that rvalera11 is building a whole set of suits, and others are as well for Comic-Con so the 405th should definitely rally up once we're there ^^

So, I know I said no more pep pics, but I have to show you guys what I've been working on since I still can't fiberglass... And I know I should focus on one thing at a time and what not- but my school has like a guy's talent pageant called Mr. Dallas and I'm signed up for it. My talent will be making Halo armor, then my formal will be dressing up like Mario haha. Any way... here's an update on my secret project so far...

Have the back pepped as well, but I need it in 2 pieces to get it on my body correctly and only had one free hand to hold the front. Helmet is pepped as well! Just didn't wear it for some reason...

EDIT(hahahaha Just noticed my face there... couldn't really see it on my phone)

Anyway, what do you think so far?

[Sorry for the double post, but i have an update!]

So... I've been silent for a long time on my armor progress- but there's a school talent show coming up; and I'm in it. I'm planning on making a video montage of me making the MK VI armor, sped up, and then walking out in my suit... Here's my finished pep Spartan armor... let me know what you think!

Blurry... but i had to hold the phone-cam above my head haha

So yeah... I'll update again after/during fiberglassing... so keep your eyes peeled for progress! (And all parts ARE HD except the bicep, and gauntlet because 1. Honestly not a whole lot of detail on the bicep that can't be added into the low-def during Bondo stage. and 2. The HD gauntlet file has too many pieces and I was just getting stressed out with it, so hopefully I'll be able to use the foamie sheets and replicate some of the details...)

hahaha, it'll be an adventure ^^ And speaking of Warthog... within the next 2 years or so... I may just have one in my garage- I've already commissioned my friend and his dad who own a metal shop, and I have a truck that I'll be modding. Right now though, I'm definitely going to focus on all my suits for Comic-Con. One thing at a time

Yeah- I get the reference I'm all signed up for Rood's list of attendees. And Thanks; I feel a major wave of relief that my biggest project is on its way to completion ^^ Then I'll just have to fiberglass the ODST and Marine stuff... Quick update- finished a quick paint job on the spartan suit, stayed up til 5am last night for the talent show im entering in with it tonight at 7.... i dont have time to take ne more pics right now- but ill update this again once i get back. Let me know what you think and wish me luck!

Well, I managed to Bondo most of the helmet, the boots, and one of the gauntlets.... I just ran out of time before the show But thanks! Hopefully I can get it perfected before Comic-Con

nice suit man, though, if you want it to look perfect, i'd try to get the bulky parts away with some bondo and more resin, and sanding and bondo and sanding...

Yeah- I will try bondoing it more, I just had to have it all painted for that night... but yes, I'll be buying some new under armor and custom making the details on it using "Foamies" and such!

Yeah I'd be up for that- there's actually a thread floating around here somewhere that has a whole list of people planning on going in their costumes... I believe it was by Roodkill.
