Had a week long vacation but took a few pics before i left and a few last night.
Before i left i got the helmet printed pictures included.

Then yesterday i got the visor printed in a hurry and clear coated it with satin (all i had on hand) just to see how it came out.

I am picking up gloss clear coat today along with 2k and 3k sand paper.

i officially have 12 days till i have a get together with local 405ths. so I'm in crunch time.

So I printed another visor sense the test above was a failure.
Below images are of a new clear resin visor hand sanded to 2k. then cleaned with Dawn and water. This is slight damp. this is actually pretty clear in my opinion. I have some 3k grit i will use tonight.

A question i have tho. has anyone used these pads before? they go up to 10k and have a buffer and sponge pad on them. im really wondering if it would be cheaper for me to use these and some Rust-Oleum 2x gloss clear coat instead of using the expensive 50$ 2 part 2k hi-gloss automotive spray people are recommending. The fact that these pads go on a Dremel is also supper interesting to be if it cuts down processing time. I spend 1.5 hours of hand sanding to go from 220 grit to 2k grit.

Also in other news. 40 hour print is done and started a 24 hour print. this will finish 3/4 of the back plate. i have a 33 hour print that will finish the back and the shoulders.

I have 11 days left before 1st meet up at Cbus taco lunch and 4.5 days of printing to do. I also wont be in town this weekend to run the printer but i should be able to get some good sanding progress done in that weekend.

Couple more images i took last night. Helmet is all glued still working on the visors.

Back/chest so far, i have 2 parts printing now finishing in 7 hours then i have a 22 hour 3 part print which will have all but the back piece completed.

All of this will be going on my family trip this weekend for post processing so hopefully when i come back it will all be ready for green paint if not already green.

I will be rustolium 2x gloss clear coating my visor tonight to see if 3k sanding and clear coat makes a usable visor. if it doesn't i will be buying rustolium high gloss clear coat and trying that. I have an air brush now and chrome mirror spray can and airbrush 2oz vial on order most of it arriving today or tomorrow. so hopefully the visor would be usable and chromed by next Wednesday.

again the end goal is to be as done as possible by may 31st at about noon.

Resin visor photo updates. The blue and black are raw prints the clear is wet 3k sanded and hard rustolium gloss clear coat (yes gloss and not high gloss i did buy high gloss to try on the blue and black)

This is the blue visor show above. I can see thought it inside. But you cant tell it's blue outside. Any recommendations there?

*slow blink in stupid as i realize i sprayed the wrong side of the visor which is why there's no color.* *slow blink in stupid as i realized that the 1 visor i did in the right way i over sprayed so it was useless.*

i have tried cleaning the chrome off with WD-40 and i may be able to "save it" (make is more usable but still bad).

been a slow work. lifes been busy or iv been stressed. i got some sanding in today and the wife snapped some quick pics of me holding this stuff.

i still have 3 different visors that are usable and wim working on a nice smokey black one looked really good before the clear coat.

It's been a hot minutes.

i have 3 visors prepped. i have all major armor pieces printed (i could still print inlays or other additions) everything is sanded and finished sprayed except for the left hand size of the cod piece. it was scaled wrong so i had to reprint it last night.

I also have 2 mk50 side arms ready to go.

once the weather dries up a bit i can spray paint again. (to humid right now)

Progress has been rather non existent sense June because of the extream heat and not being able to sand inside.

My helmet is now green and the wife and i are getting ready to purchase equipment for air brushing (a hobby she has wanted to get into for a wile now as is).

Once that is purchased we will be able to start painting the wash and details.

My 1st con is CGC in September so as of this message we are about 70 days out.

does anyone have any recommendations on quick easy stuff the Wife could wear that may look on theme? she's not interested in a helmet and im trying to talk her into a small weapon. We do have ideas for a cosplay for her later but that's not happening this year.

1. Corbulo Academy of Military Science (CAMs) Cadet PT/Dorm Uniform:

Basically a green T-Shirt and black pants. CherriDragon has made one and could perhaps supply the files for the needed logos.

2. ODST PT/Training Gear as seen in the "We Are ODST/The Life" commercial:

Im going to make Oddworks halo 2 shot gun. but im having an issue. when i download the files and i open up one of the pre made print plates in bambu labs i get weird blocks.

i know the instructions say use cura but cura dosnt support bambu any more so any recommendations on how to proceed?

I believe his Orca plates work, if you do not have those files available like some of his newer models do, then you're reduced to loading the models and building your plates manually instead of using their pre built plate files.

Like Cadet suggested the Cams are a quick and easy costumes to put together if you own a cricut machine. Another one would be a Traxus worker that i believe MrJamin has done and could give advice on as well

I have a oddworks shotgun ready to be assembled and i am prepping to print some plasma grenades' by him. i also have a knife to print for the wife. We got her a backpack that shes going to fill with cosplay repair gear (taking recommendations) and some normal 1st aid stuff and maybe some makeup.

Duct tape, super glue, and hot glue can fix anything. Maybe a power bank as well to plug hot glue gun into and charge electronics.

We did talk about potentially getting her one of those BIG power banks that can run an outlet. the biggest issue i see with that is heating stuff takes a lot of juice so hard to know if it will last long enough.
