When purchasing printed cards you would upload the file that was given to you, a PDF.

I'm not inherently sure what you mean by that, it won't let me upload a pdf or a svg. I pulled the images from the pdf as a jpg with whatever dpi they suggested on goprints

I have done many collector cards on GotPrint and they for sure accept PDF. It is the preferred format and will even auto detect the front and back of the card at the same time.
