Random idea to toss into the mix:

"Call me simple and easily amused, but I never fail to be amazed by the fact that no two rings are linked to each other, yet the three as a whole are inseparable."
The three rings could represent the values of armor, honor, and community.
It's ancient human symbolism, the wiki article dates it as far back as the 7th century.

way ahead of ya.

This is a logo concept to change from our existing logo and move towards more of an independent logo. Reason I created this design is because:

- hexagons - very halo related - I love Bees, Bubble Shield, Hex168, background pattern on lots of stuff
- ring - represents halo without going out and saying it
- 3 hexagons - representing Honor, Armor, and Community

I also chose to do it in a more high-tech look. Less militaristic. The actual logo for patches should be non-angled, and more rigid. More military, this logo is more of the "institute, technology, scientific, officer, AI" type of logo. I want a cleaner, smoother feel for the new forums and community. Not the beat up, run down look we've been tending towards. I want it to look like 2552 and not necessarily in a war, but successful and progressive. We're not the 501st, and we should have a different approach to it. Not necessarily tending towards military structure the whole time.

Font changes can happen, but I have this in VECTOR format for printing, patches and others. Thoughts?

BTW Spase love the new avatar!

will donate vinyl for stickers if you want too!

oo oo, I have a neat idea, though some may have already thought of it. See attached picture. I couldn't really get it to work to well, but you get the idea with the honor part.

Edit: Crap the 'Honor' part didn't show up. Well, where the words are put the text in the ring in between the hexagons. Perhaps even put 405th in the middle.

Edit 2: Ok I give up, the stupid text to path thing in GIMP is being stupid. It shows the text along the path I made, but then it disappears when I save the file. I'm sure someone here can do a better job than I can.

well... your first problem is that ur using gimp.

Other than that, what is it that your trying to do? just turn the words at an angle or curve them?

This outline should be fine, due to the fact that it is 30% different than original making it free rain.

What do ya think? And it's easy to make for vinyl or patches.

I'm going to be honest.. you took something beautiful, geometrically simple and balanced, and made it complex and awkward. Sorry, but I don't like it. :(

Thanks for your opion, where is your solution?

I don't understand, guys we are on the SAME TEAM! Why can't people seem to learn what constructive and polite criticism is? Or maybe how you would fix?
