Dreamhack Dallas/ HCS Open Series Info and Roll Call (May 23rd - 25th)

If possible, can we start to clarify what is happening each day? For example, is the HCS just one day, or all weekend? Will our participation on stage be on more than one of those days?

What does this mean? "Thursday will be different from Optic"

Not sure what this means: "Looking for 6 people to participate in stage events and cosplay contest-related activities.
Potential media involvement with teams." It seams you have 20+ people interested... Are only 6 going to be selected for the intermission/olympics thing?

Is there any word on hotel block rates? And/or is anyone open to sharing rooms to split the cost?

Lastly, I have a good-sized car (2019 Accord Hybrid Touring), so I would be happy to carpool with one or two people from the Austin area (depending on luggage space).

HCS is all weekend but this is a gaming event there’s plenty happening throughout the weekend. I have the cosplay competition on Saturday so I’ll be doing that.

As for the Thursday/Wednesday thing there’s gonna be a media day in which loosefilms want a some cosplayers present. We would be able to go help out HCS.

Dreamhack also wants us to be doing some intermission entertainment through skits so we need some people but not everyone to help out with those.

As for the hotel. People from Austin and the Midwest would be best to reach out to. crackhead09 and SpartanSweed would be the best people to talk to.

If you have done so already, pleas fill out the Attendance sheet linked in the main post! This will be sent to Dreamhack for our passes!

Looks like this is a weekend that I should be free. Anyone need a roomie? If so, whats the cost look like? Mark me as tentative. Have to either give Freds undersuit some love, slim chance of a new one, or just run my ODST.

Hey team! Super pumped to share that our DreamHack skit ideas made their way to Mark and Noble’s inbox this morning and are now in the review stage! These are the activities we’re planning for the main stage intermission, and there’s something for everyone—whether you want to compete, help on stage, or just hype up the crowd.

Once we get the go-ahead, I’ll send out the full breakdown with times, number of participants, and all the fun details. We’re getting close!

In the meantime, a few things to start thinking about:
• Do you have a more comfortable or better-visibility helmet you’d prefer to wear on stage? Feel free to bring it!
• To help with visor fogging, consider using anti-fog spray or even a quick wipe of Dawn dish soap—it can really help when you’re moving around under lights.

Can’t wait to see this come together—it’s gonna be a blast!

Dreamhack 2025 / HCS Open Series

Local Hotels:

- Omni Dallas Hotel
- Lorenzo Hotel Dallas

Final Thoughts: We have been asked to assist with this event by the Dreamhack team! Tickets will be covered for both armored attendees, and handlers via our attendance list. In addition, as the event gets closer we will be participating with the HCS Open Series component. We will be asked to engage with the community at the mile long event center, bringing the unique Halo experience to the atmosphere!

Additionally, we have been asked to plan an execute a "skit" of some sort for a 15/20 minute duration that will be a intermission on the main stage of the event. The stage is ADA compliant, handlers will be allowed on stage as necessary alongside DH staff, and the stage has ramps in addition to stairs. We are also invited to participate in the events cosplay contest, and welcome to use the amenities provided like the cosplayer lounge, repair stations, and changing spaces on site. However no filming can happen in back areas/cosplay areas, areas designated "back-of-house", and no crowding the official photographers space during DH events.

Booth: We have discussed the potential of a 10x10 booth space with an 8ft provided table, however nothing is locked in yet at this time

ODST, on standby, ready to jump. I'm coming with.

I'll be for the most part unavailable for the majority of the time leading up to the event. I have to get my new suit done in time for the cosplay contest saturday and I've decided to make the decision to not bring my MK VII to this event. I'll be in my mirage saturday and sunday and will be willing to be a handler for friday. I simply dont have time to get the necessary fixes to the suit made with the time crunch that is my mirage suit.

Here's a WIP photo of it. I've still got to finish the upper body but for the most part this stuff is ready for fabric, rigging, and weathering.
