Hey there, guys and girls. Arcanine here, with an unfortunate announcement.

Unfortunately we're experiencing some issues with the File Archive at the moment - a number of users are reporting broken downloads, with files returning a 'No Development Data' error. While I can't be certain of the extent of the issue, I can promise to keep you informed of any changes as soon as they happen. I've personally sent Art Andrews a PM to try and get a resolution on the issue, and I'm hoping that he'll get his guys behind the scenes to work their magic and resolve the problem as soon as is possible.

In the meantime, please refer to the backup 4Shared Database for files. I can't guarantee that the 4Shared Database is up-to-date, but there should be some viable alternatives there for those that require files.

Again, I can only apologise for the interruption of service, and that we'll have a resolution as soon as possible. Please refer all reports of broken files to this thread, along with any additional information that might help us to diagnose the issue and get things back to normal.

Thanks for your understanding and patience, all. Armour, Honour, Community.

EDIT: I'm seeing that some members are reporting downloads as appearing to be in some Notepad format, depending on browsers. I personally use Google Chrome, and files are both downloading in and displaying as .PDO format, but aren't opening properly in Pepakura. I'd appreciate any information regarding your browser configuration (Firefox/IE/Chrome/Safari, etc) when submitting a report about the Archive.

hi. im trying to download the prim (priss) hardsuit pep files but when they download, the appear as the format, "64 file".

I'll look into it as soon as I can. Thanks for the heads-up!

EDIT: are you running Pepakura Designer or Pepakura Viewer? These files appear to be designed for the latter, perhaps that might be the source of your troubles.

im trying to run it on viewer first then trying to put It on designer so I can adjust the scale for the pep to fit my body.
EDIT: is there a way for rundown to make the files available to be used on designer?

how do change its scale to fit me then? the hands alone are 3/4" smaller than my own hands.

Pepakura Viewer allows you to scale items and unfold them - however, it doesn't allow you to save those developments. That's the only major distinction.

If I'm not mistaken, there's actually no way to scale or unfold in pepakura viewer either. In pepakura designer, you are allowed to scale and unfold, but unless you purchase a keycode, you are not allowed to save it.

I'm going to add a little update here, in the hopes that people will actually read and understand this:

Each entry into the File Archive has a function for reporting, if that file is for some reason broken or unusable. Each report sent appears in my own control panel (CP), for me to deal with accordingly. I've been getting a lot of false flag reports recently - files marked as 'bad content' or even 'pornographic content' by certain jokers who think they're funny.

PLEASE do not submit a report unless there is actually an issue with the file. If the file doesn't open, please consider upgrading your copy of Pepakura to the latest version - Pepakura 3 files will not function in Pepakura 2. 100% of the files uploaded are checked before uploading - we don't make a habit of uploading broken files, so please - only consider reporting genuinely broken files.

Double post, I know, but any updates deserve for the thread to be bumped in order to spread the news around.

Unfortunately, current files still seem to be having issues. However, I uploaded a test file a few minutes ago, which seems to be working properly - indicating that perhaps the database has somehow become corrupt. If that's the case, we'll do our best to restore the files as soon as we can, and ask for your patience while we rebuild the Archive.

That said, it's worth noting that all of this is still purely speculative - I've not gotten an answer back from Art regarding the issue yet, and it's entirely possible that we'll be able to restore the Archive from a backup.

For users trying to access the Archive: please find (LINK! >) THIS (< LINK!) file, and report back in this thread your results with downloading it.

Again, I can only apologise for the issues we're having. We're on the case.

EDIT: word from Art Andrews is that the issue's being looked into. I'll try to keep you all as up-to-date as I can as things develop.

Hi I tried the like for the 4shared account and the archive it tells me that I don't have permission to use both. Any help here with this.

Sorry, you're going to have to be more specific about your issue. Are you unable to use our File Archive, or is the 4Shared Archive not working for you?

Okay this is what I get when try three archive link.

Blackblood, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

So you're saying that you can't access our File Archive? A screenshot might go a long way to helping me understand your issue, but I have the feeling that your account hasn't been properly validated. I'll have Art Andrews look into it when I can, I apologise for the inconvenience.

Okay I figured out the problem the Achieves are not mobile friendly.

I see. The 4Shared Archive isn't something I personally maintain, and I'm surprised that you'd have issues with both the 4Shared Archives and our own on-site Archives. That said, I'd encourage you to try using the forum's features on a desktop device where possible to ensure there will be minimal issues.

Soooo...
A little while ago me and my husband tried getting into the archive. Normally we don't have any issues, even if we're not logged in. Sam had some trouble, so I went ahead and logged in on 4shared. No such luck.
I tried accessing it through the forum post, and through the wikki, just to make sure my bookmark didn't get messed up. Still no luck being let in. All three are saying that I need to request access in order to see the archive.
Sam was able to finally get a file, but he had to go into a separate thread.

We're both updated on chrome, windows... and I was able to look at the archive about two days ago.

As above, the fact that you're having 4Shared issues is extremely odd. I can't think of what might cause you to have issues with both that system and our Archive - I'll check the global privileges for the Archive, but 4Shared is beyond my control.

EDIT: European and Excalibur Regiments weren't cleared for permissions, but I'll rectify that as soon as I can. I can't say the same for the Midwest and Southern Regiments, but I'll double-check the permission settings to be sure.

EDIT #2: Global permissions are as such, for future reference:

All members and guests are able to view files.
Downloads are disabled for banned members, unregistered/not logged in members, users awaiting validation and content-moderated members.
Uploads are disabled for banned members, new members, unregistered/not logged in members, users awaiting validation and content-moderated members.

It'll take me a while to fully check the Archive's permission settings and ensure that nothing's awry. I'll be sure to update this thread if I find any issues.

EDIT #3: it appears that some permissions have been tampered with or otherwise altered - I need to reset at least the Halo 3 file permissions back to default. This would be a lot easier if I didn't have to do each category individually, but that's the way things go, I suppose. Again, please let me know if there are any issues with the Archive in the future - give me the name of the file you were attempting to download, along with the specifications of the system you're using, to help me narrow down the issue.

DOUBLE POST: THE TETRIS IS DOWN EDITION

I'm aware that several files have, recently gone missing from the Archive's uploaded content. Rather than submit a Report, please PM me with a link to the file in question, as well as a short description of what the issue is, and I'll take a look at it.

Please also be aware that the 405th 4Shared Database may also be experiencing some issues. Because of this, I may be unable to source replacement files for a while - be patient, I'll deal with the issue as soon as I can. Also, for the love of god please stop submitting erroneous reports - if you can't open a file, check you have the right software. If a file isn't unfolded, too bad. I'm tired of receiving 'bad content' reports for files.

I know I'm being a pain, but I still can't get access to the 405th Database from :/ As far as I know, I'm not banned from anything :p
And I was logged in.

I use this link: http://www.4shared.com/folder/CCB_6QwQ/405th_Pepakura_Database.html
That's just to get to the database, not any specific file or page within it.

Here is what comes up on the screen (I deleted out my email address)
Library is down.png

Now here's the kicker, I can go to some of the forums and follow the links to some member's 4shared folders and download just fine. Just not the main database.

Read up in my post - I specifically mentioned that I was having similar issues, and that I don't know what's causing it. I'm chasing up the problem but it's going to take some time to get a resolution on the matter. Until I've solved it, please sit tight, and look to our own File Archive if you need anything.
