First cosplay build: Zerfer's MK-VII

Hello World !​

I've been planning this project for years and I think the time has come.
I've collected almost all the parts needed to build my own Halo Infinite Multiplayer armor. I'm just missing the Capaxx handplates (but I'll probably model them myself later), the wrist attachment TAC/SRT UGPS, the electronics, a lot of pockets and the foam.
Almost all parts will be 3D printed with a Longer LK5 Pro (let's hope so good)

So now I will show you my project plan​

Almost all the parts were free (many thanks to everyone who does this work for free) while the few items I bought didn't cost much.
I have no budget limits but obviously I try not to spend too much (I don't have a job, I study and live with my parents).
I don't even have a deadline. I won't be able to work on it every day while I am studying for the university, but I'd like to finish it by next year.

I have many ideas for this project:​

- Leds everywhere (intelligently without exaggerating)
- Fans in the helmet
- Interchangeable visors (normal view only from inside to outside, damaged like Master Chief in Halo 5, completely transparent)
- Internal skull mask like the one Slenderdummy made on Instagram
- Real flashlight on the helmet
- Decal and sticker (emblem, decoration, camouflage, pin-up...)
- To be able to dress myself independently
- Best possible flexibility
- Best possible proportions (I am 163 cm tall)
- For the undersuit of torso I will use foam
- For the joints like elbows and knees I would like to sew a undersuit like Jerverant's MK-VII
- It would be very nice if the radio really worked, but I will probably only 3D print it
- It would be very nice if the wrist attachment TAC/SRT UGPS worked, but I will probably print a graphic on a clear plastic sheet and put some leds underneath, maybe a qrcode of my Instagram/405th profile like the one tahu505 made on Instagram
- I would like to create a working audio system where I can choose to turn on or off an internal microphone in the helmet, change the audio channel of headphones between external audio, music from smarthphone or radio... but I don't know how do it so most likely I won't do that and just put an audio cable between the headphones and the smarthphone
- I would like to create more Halo-themes gadgets like access cards or other similar items (I had see something online, maybe on the Halo Archive Discord server)
- I really like the concept of a Banished AI like Iratus, so maybe one day I will create some transparent parts to create the effect of corrupted spartan like in halo Infinite Multiplayer (it's a real shame that we don't have cinematics like in the first seasons anymore, they were beautiful)

Conclusion​

I would like to put a lot of things, but I know too much is bad. And this is my first cosplay, so it will be complicated.
I am very slow in everything and insecure, so it will definitely take many months to finish it.
But I've seen so many beautiful cosplays you've done, that I want to do it too.
I've already done a little bit but not much. However, I've thought that if I actually start publishing something, maybe I'll succed in finishing this project.

I'll be posting an update soon showing you my scaled armor on Armorsmith Designer and asking for your feedback.

Yes, maybe too much ahaha
For the elite skull I will probably ask to a friend if he can print it in resin, because I don't think it would work well with my FDM printer.

The idea is to make three visors and not glue them inside the helmet, but instead attach them using a few hooks or buttons. This way, before putting the helmet on, I can choose which visor to use.

I agree, the only problem with the visor is that it makes it difficult to draw on. For example, in the Halo Infinite design, there are teeth on it, which are cute, but I prefer them without.
However, drawing a skull like Emile's is complicated due to the shape. That's why I thought about the internal mask.
Then I saw the one made by Slenderdummy and I fell in love with it.

Thanks, I wanted to give it an asymmetrical look but I'm not sure yet if I'll just make that arm red. Mybe I'll draw some design on it inspired by some other cosplay

Damn this is really well planned out! Love the graphics you made! What are you planing on printing this out of?

Also I saw you mentioned trying to make those transparent/hologram parts. I recommend looking at Pipninja's gungnir Laurels. That might give you some ideas on how to make those transparent parts.

Thanks, I will print almost all parts in PLA. I have 1 Kg of PLA eSun grey matte and something of Geeetech PLA blue.
I need to finish these spools first, but if you have any filaments to recommend, that would be great. I've used various brands, always PLA or PLA+, but I always have some issues with them all. I need to do a lot of testing before I find some decent settings.
In theory, the printer is fine, the bed is clean, the extruder too... I have no idea what the problem is. Sometimes it's really frustrating.
That's also why this project will take me a long time

Thanks for the suggestion, it'll definitely come in handy.
I've done some work with epoxy resin and LEDs. Aside from a few bubbles, it didn't turn out too bad, but any suggestions are welcome.

I think the internal mask is a great idea! You should be able to find a file for it easily enough by using the skull from the Haunted pilot helmet. But I totally agree with the teeth from the infinite Artaius helmet, it is disappointing that you cannot remove them in game unless you make your own visor silver, they are also annoying to paint on there but I think we did an okay job

Yeah, I can use the skull from the Haunted pilot helmet or adapt the skull oddball.

Your cosplay is beautiful. In my eyes you did a great job with the teeth.
