I've got to say this in the halo way.

thanks! I've learned a lot from this build so far, after this one is done I will probably get started on a second, improved and more detailed one. and i need to order a whole mess of razor blades...

That came out looking real good! I bet your are excited to wear it, eh?!

As far as blades go... I suggest a scalpel handle ($3) and a pack of 100 count #11 surgical blades ($14). WAY better priced than X-Acto and the handle will help you not "drift" when cutting.

While, yes, it is a good effect, I would say that the application of said effect is a wee bit excessive. I've noticed that generally the scratched metal effect only works with edges, with other forms of wear and grime on the rest of the helmet/suit. Although, if you like it, go with it. What I write shouldn't affect your opinion on the matter.

Although, that does look quite well done...

thanks, the camera flash makes it pop a lot more than it really does, but i think i'm going to add some black to it as well, give it a bit of a burned look

(also covers a bit of a mistake, lol)

now this is just an idea I did this with my odst I made some cuts on the edge and made them some what wide like 2/8 of an inch wide and 1/8 deep to make it look like I'd just been in a fire fight for a few hours.

I was thinking about doing something like that, wasn't sure how to go about it, i'm guessing just use my hot knife and make some score marks and paint them?

to be honest it looks weird, but in the same way the Mk IV looks weird to me. you still look like a spartan.

mobility isn't too bad, getting used to walking in the boots is a little tricky, and I can't cross my arms much

Damn really good! I'm trying to work on a custom dead space armor and I feel like it doesn't even look good I just like want to stop and give up but I'm not since I'm still new,how do you guys get inspiration or idk what to call it to keep working and making things look so awesome?
