First Timer wants to make Mark Vi Armor

Okay, So it's my first time on the 405th and cosplay making in general. Where would I begin to make Mark VI Gen 1 Armor?
Biggest question I have for you, foam or 3d print? It's ok if you don't know yet.

To start, I'd have a look at the tutorials area. You'll find a lot of resources there. Tutorial Index

Our Foam Optimized Files for he Gen 1 Mark Vi (Halo 2/3) Can be found here:

While logged into your account you will see an orange "Download" bottom on the top of the page. Click that and a .ZIP file will automatically download. You will then want to unzip or extract that folder. Once extracted, the .PDO files are intended to be opened with Pepakura. They can also be opened in ArmorSmith (which is a one time purchase but can then also be used for 3D Printing scaling) or the "PaperMaker" program for mobile or Mac. As you look through the files you will see there is a whole section for the files that have been altered for use with EVA foam. You will want to look for the files with "FOAM" in the file name, such as "halo-3-mjolnir-mkvi-chest-foam.pdo."

If you use Pepakura, it is a free download, with the option to purchase a license key. Purchasing the license allows you to save any modifications or changes to the files, like scaling, but you can easily get by with the Free version.

Definitely look through the Tutorial Index that JTF4 already linked. A good place to start is the "Foam Guide:"

The foam guide I linked above goes into thickness, and it usually comes down to personal preference, but, 8 or 10 mm for main construction with 5 and 3 mm for details is a very common technique.
