Alright progress complete for today!

-Plate carrier chest and back fully completed minus clips.
-Belt fully complete.

I still need to weather the leg and boot armor. It's amazing the difference a little dry bushing can make. Note in the comparison of the shoulders. Also, need to figure out how to permanently attach the front clips to the shoulder armor and add MED REF decal to the shoulder bell. After that I'll pretty much be ready to suit up for a full test run.

A couple of notes before I proceed:

I intentionally left out the upper chest and neck armor. I have a neck seal that will hide my neck. Additionally, I am skipping the butt plate. It's not fully screen accurate but my other costumes are fully accurate Stormtroopers. Much of those builds sacrifices practicality and comfort for screen accuracy. I.e. I cannot sit. I wanted to accomplish the opposite with this kit. I want to look the part but be able to sit/rest/ move/ and not have the added bulk of the collarbone/neck armor. This will allow me to spend more time enjoying being in the costume at cons and events.

Man when i finally make an ODST ill be coming back to this thread. Cant wait for some test fittings!

Thus morning consisted of adding the straps to the shoulder pads which allowed me to attach the clips. I just used some nylon webbing and some chicago screws hidden under the padded strap to hold them in place.

Next I printed a scaled image of the MED REF decal for the shoulder utilizing some glossy printer paper. Since the paper isn't really porous I affixed to the shoulder using CA glue. It's these little details that make this fun!

After several hours of meticulously hand weathering every piece of the armor the suit is 99% complete!!!!!! A few minor adjustments and the attachment for the thighs and I will be able to suit up for the first time in the entire ensemble. I think I'm most proud of how the plate carrier came out as it's all one piece with the armor permanently attached. This will make donning and doffing the armor that much easier!

This is super sick! I'm impressed! All the pieces are so clean and the weathering looks fantastic. I'm excited for the suit up!!

Spot on build, looks great and that paint job with the weathering is so well done, nice job!

Well here it is. First full suit up. Definitely some items to adjust!

-Helmet need to sit a tad lower and more forward. It looks oddly placed.
-Thighs need to be mounted way higher. I really undershot where I need them to sit currently.
- Need a better solution for the boot armor. It's bulky and causing the shins to ride higher than needed and make walking awkward. I may need to basically remove the aft 50% and just mount the toe caps to the shoes/ combat boots.

Other than those adjustments I'm really happy with how this came out. I was able to get in and out of the kit without assistance in lass than 5 minutes and overall it is very comfortable minus the issues with the leg armor. Working this weekend, but this upcoming week I hope to make some of these adjustments and do another suit up to check my fixes. You never really get a good sense unless you are wearing the entire kit at the same time! I've never been totally happy with a kit right from the first go so given that most of this is minor I'm very happy with it! I'll be applying for official membership with the 405th today!

I have loved watching this build. You have done an amazing job with this and should feel proud! I hope my ODST looks half this good when it's all done. Of course there's always things that we (as the creator) sees to improve, but seriously this looks awesome.
I saw you were applying for the southern membership, and ran right over to this thread to see the suit up pics! I look forward to seeing you at a con (if I ever finish my suit and if cons ever happen again)!

Alright, so this weekend I custom built a plate carrier and helmet stand out of PVC to make a nice display stand for the armor. Got that setup in my game/display room on the Halo wall and now we are vibin!

Been awhile but have some updates.

Received my patches and decals today so very excited about these! I also have been adding some screen accuracy improvements to the kit. Now I have the addition of the butt plate, added strapping to the hip plates, covered the shoulder straps in grey duck fabric and added screen correct strapping configuration.

Hoping to receive my Sean Bradlet helmet soon along with the neck collar and back armor piece as well as a pair of smaller gauntlets and toe caps from his May sale! This kit will be a much better iteration for Savannah Mega Comic Con in July!
