Fantastic job on the paint job. Really has all the features popping where they need to be.Progress continues today! Weathering and assembly is happening. Already have the front of the plate carrier completed.
Man when i finally make an ODST ill be coming back to this thread. Cant wait for some test fittings!Alright progress complete for today!
-Plate carrier chest and back fully completed minus clips.
-Belt fully complete.
I still need to weather the leg and boot armor. It's amazing the difference a little dry bushing can make. Note in the comparison of the shoulders. Also, need to figure out how to permanently attach the front clips to the shoulder armor and add MED REF decal to the shoulder bell. After that I'll pretty much be ready to suit up for a full test run.
A couple of notes before I proceed:
I intentionally left out the upper chest and neck armor. I have a neck seal that will hide my neck. Additionally, I am skipping the butt plate. It's not fully screen accurate but my other costumes are fully accurate Stormtroopers. Much of those builds sacrifices practicality and comfort for screen accuracy. I.e. I cannot sit. I wanted to accomplish the opposite with this kit. I want to look the part but be able to sit/rest/ move/ and not have the added bulk of the collarbone/neck armor. This will allow me to spend more time enjoying being in the costume at cons and events.
Spot on build, looks great and that paint job with the weathering is so well done, nice job! After several hours of meticulously hand weathering every piece of the armor the suit is 99% complete!!!!!! A few minor adjustments and the attachment for the thighs and I will be able to suit up for the first time in the entire ensemble. I think I'm most proud of how the plate carrier came out as it's all one piece with the armor permanently attached. This will make donning and doffing the armor that much easier!
How did you attach the chest pieces to the plate carrier?Progress continues today! Weathering and assembly is happening. Already have the front of the plate carrier completed.
The plate carrier had sewn in loop velcro. I attached hook to the chest plate and installed. For the other pieces I riveted mole straps to the backs and attached to the plate carrier. How did you attach the chest pieces to the plate carrier?
Whoooo, good luck mate!Made some adjustments and got some updated pictures taken of the kit. I used these photos and some others to apply for a deployment tier today!
