Hey, how's it going!? Me too!

Now to my point. I am interested in making a full sized statue of master chief, and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I could do it. My basic train of thought on it is download the pep files, make them. Do the whole "costume" process, you know, resin, fiberglass, blah.... But I would never actually wear it lol. So I was thinking having a statue would be pretty kick butt right? I looked around and tried to see if anyone els had the same idea and maybe even some suggestions, but alas, there were none (to my knowledge). So I came to you all! I've seen the labor and dedication you all put into your work and would love any advice you can give me! Thank you all and have a good one!

I'm working on a pose able mannequin so I can put my MC suit on it but I'm still in the planning stages personally.

Well, no matter what material you use to make the armour, you're going to need a 'body' to fill it in. The very first thing I'd recommend doing (once you've figured out what materials you'll use and if it's cost effective) is making a 'skeleton'.

I make a lot of sculptures--even the small ones need wire skeletons to support them. You're going to need very strong wire, wooden sticks, or metal rods (if you know how to weld) to make a basic stick-man frame of Master Chief. You'd probably need to 'bulk out' the frame as well to look like actual arms, legs, neck, etc. So many different ways to do that, none of 'em are gonna be easy.

So you're taking a much more difficult task, 'cause you don't just have to make the armour, you have to make the body as well. Maybe do as Chambs007 is, and purloin an old mannequin from a thrift clothing store? (and by purloin, I of course mean ask nicely if they have any mannequins that they don't use anymore)....

I agree your going to need to make a body/skeleton to fill it. I once saw a video youtube on how to make a low budget mannequin. heres a link
, if it doesn't link just copy and paste

That video is exactly what I am going to do lol. Thank you so much! One more question though.. What should I use for the "under armor"? Like where the armor isn't showing?

for the skeleton, you can use PVC pipe for example. For the under suit, a lot of people use Under Armour, you can find a cheaper brand in Walmart. If the statue is going to stay in one pose, you can use 1/16 inch craft foam to cut details into and glue onto the under suit, mainly the stomach piece. Hope this helps!
