Yeah, I have been thinking about making my own suit for a couple weeks now. One thing I have been thinking ALOT about is the helmet. And it occured to me last night that if you don't want to start lighting from scratch, you could probably get four small flashlights, a battery pack that supplies enough power for those lights, and a few feet of wiring. My plan is to rig the flashlights to where instead of being powered from the default battery boxes to a separate box. This would not only allow you to activate the lights simultaneously, but also have a nice convienient place that you can get to the batteries easier.
One thing I want to know is how you made the visor? Eventually, I am going to build a Halo 4 MC armor, but I want the visor to look authentic.

Regarding the visor, mine was made with clear plastic, car tint and a piece of acetate. You can check out my notes on it here. Any questions just.

Started as a helmet but is starting to take shape on full build. Just need to weigh options before the winter month set in.
I know I'll have allot of sizing issues ontop of picking foam vs. trustworthy pepakura.
Also had my 6 year old nephews try it on the other day..
I've also decided 100% to leave the curent paint job until I have an entire suit built.

Well, its gonna be at least a month before I get the tools I need, so don't expect anything until the beginning of next year. As for the lights, it sounds simple in theory, but have to get my grandpa of an electrician to confirm it. The flashlights are definitely the lazy mans way out if they don't feel creative.
