Gas Mask

Activated charcoal has so much surface area, they even use it for refrigeration to get rid of odors like baking soda does, but because of the high area content, it absorbs scents and odors much much more efficiently.

If you were really safe, you could get one of those sports inhaler..thingy..yeah.
Basically is a mask that you put on, and attach a small tube to it filled with pure oxygen. A bit like a divers oxygen setup, but a hell of a lot smaller. well, it fits in your hand.
They're £30 over here, and you can get them at argos :D

Personally though, Ive never used a mask for sanding or spraying. I just used a rag or my top. For fiberglassing I've used a very simple mask.
Probably why I have asthma :p

The spray leaves you a little dizzy when your in a small room though :p

Take care all,
-D.

The spraypaint makes you dizzy because the organic vapors in the spray are displacing oxygen in your blood. Basically, the spray is strangling you. A proper respirator will keep them out of your system, and you won't get dizzy or tired from painting anymore.

Sometimes I like the dizzyness haha.
Im okay with the vapours, but, when Im spraying a BIG project, I do it outside. Just annoying when it goes cold and the spray paint goes matt :(

hey i got this gas mask from the police station, from the sargeant. He said i can take as many as i want, there are other kinds too, and a bunch of filters for them. Will this work for fiberglassing? like for keeping my brain fully functional?

the filter says it keeps out CN, dusts, fumes, mists, and radionuclides
Wait.........you have to have a gas mask when resining?Does that mean I have to wear one when im fiberglassing, or what? Can someone help me with all the specs of what i need to do to be safe?

You don't need a full gas mask. Go to a hardware store, or a home improvement store and look for a respirator:

Get one that says it will filter out organic vapors. I've usually found them in the painting section.
