Wow, it's good to be back on this website after not being on here for a year.

So, here's the problem. I have my mold done and a visor in place. I have a few pictures of what it looks like:

(For some reason, I can't post pictures on this forum post so I had to upload them on imgur.)

I'm trying to make the helmet look just like it really does in the Random Access Memories era (shiny gold helmet, pitch black visor, no lights.) The problem is, I don't know what to do from here. I've tried this once but with Pepakura and resin and the paint job didn't work out at all, plus the visor was too dark for me to see out of, although I used super paper-thin plastic sheets:

This Guy Manuel helmet that I currently have is made out of thick durable plastic and the visor is also out of plastic that's a bit smaller than the width of the helmet.

So, the problem is that I don't know what kind of gold spray paint I should get and if the current state of my plastic is good enough for me to even spray paint yet. And if you noticed, my visor is too light, which is supposed to be much darker (it should obviously not show my face although this visor does.) What should I do to make it darker? The spray paint I used on my other visor for the Thomas helmet made it too dark, but that's most likely because the plastic on the helmet is too thin and not hard at all, unlike my Guy Manuel helmet.

If anyone here who has experience with making a professional Daft Punk helmet or who knows who to tint a helmet + make a helmet look shiny with paint, I'd love your help!

Wish I could help, unfortunately I can not see any of your pics. But here are some thoughts. Have you tried gold leafing? Rustoleum has a decent gold paint. Can be real shiny if proper preparations are made. Visor, what kind of plastic? How thick? How was It formed? Can it withstand boiling? These things should be included so that people having this knowledge might better answer your inquiries. Hope I helped a little.
