Well.. my brother was in town and he gets awesome pics! New forearms and handplates were a much needed improvement! (Of course nothing is padded and strapped yet, so not completely sitting perfect, but close!) Also played around with my moto kidney belt for mid section under suit ideas... I'm really digging how this suit is starting to look, onto the boots! Enjoy!

love the poses.... but... no superhero landing/bubble shield drop?

A little teaser pic for you guys.. first toe piece came out great, scale is spot on and fits my donor shoe perfectly amd measures out great. The soles of the boots are made from 1/2 inch thick horse stall rubber mat from tractor supply. It's extremely dense and durable. Of course married up to the Eva foam with shoe goo. It's insane how strong it is. I ran a few test runs this week gluing the 2 materials together with different glues. Of course shoe goo is absolutely inseparable and came out on top, it literally is permanent. I'm really excited to see the finish product. My vison for these boots is to actually walk on them and not just be a floating hovering shell over a shoe like i often see. These things should be really tough and good for all terrians.

such excellent work! totally one hell of an spartan armor
Thanks man!! That really means alot! I'm giving this build 100% so that it's as close to pulling chief out of halo 3 as possible! In fact, I'm gearing up to possibly build another helmet to get a little more spot on with that but yes I'm thrilled with how well this suit came out for sure.

Shoe goo is almost done curing gents. These things are tough! But while we wait, checkout this awesome ribbed material I found at home Depot for the foot joint. It's perfect and flexes like a champ! Just some trimming and mild heat molding and it fits right in place

Do you happen to have an SKU for that ribbing? I was going to use the LongShot X method and disassemble a plunger to make the gasket material.

Yes sir I do! I bought the plunger too, but in my opinion the ribs go to deep, look good but to dramatic based on how subtle they are in the game. This piping flexes and is meant to holds shape straight from the store but once you cut it, it loses its shape holding property and becomes pretty flexible!

ExCeLLuR8 The flexible piping will work better than a NEW toilet plunger. I say NEW because I really don't like the concerns of a used one. The ones on my boots are wearing out and are in need of replacing.

I really like your progress.

:)

Hey thanks man! Yeah this flex pipe works pretty good and responds well to the heat gun also if it needs a little persuasion. Haha dude I love your suit though, you have been a big inspiration in this build. Between yours and Justin branfuhr's suit I have been giving this build everything I can to get it to the level of you guys. Once I finish my second boot, I'm considering giving the helmet one more build attempt even though my current one is "good".. I think I can make another one great!

Man it's really amazing how much the boot sets off the entire armor. I'm beyond stoked with how it turned out! I wish you guys could feel how hefty and strong the boot is too! The 1/2 rubber horse stall mat set in with indestructible shoe goo, these things feel like a work boot you'd buy at the store. Extremely comfortable with the wide foot base too. Really spreads out the weight, maybe my boss will let me wear them to work?? Don't worry guys, I'm working on the second one, will need about a week to complete the shoe goo process. Enjoy!!
(Ps. Don't mind the floppy forearms, no padding yet! They had a mind of their own)

Those look amazing, but my question is, how do you feel walking in them? I made my boots, but when I walk the toes a d back heel area hit the ground and I feel it makes it a little harder to walk and damages them...
