Hello all!

This is my second time building this armor. Pictured below is my old set.

I've got most of the leg and arm pieces done (not all of them are pictured here.)

I liked the look of the 3d printed helmet more than the foam one so I ordered this one from etsy.

I also picked up this patrol cap for when I don't want to wear the helmet.

I've begun the sealing process with some plasti-dip. I'm going to start experimenting with some different rattle cans to try and recreate the same color from the game.

What did everyone else use for game accurate color?

I’ve always just used spray paint. However, I know many members have elected to use regular ol’ house paint as it allows more colour options. I’m not sure if you apply it with a brush or through a sprayer though

Well I've been absolutely terrible at keeping progress reports posted.

The armor is mostly completed, and I ran a test run at motor city comic con. Everything worked pretty well and I'm happy overall with the look of everything. I ended up moving recently and that kind of put a hold on everything.

Eventually I'm going to make a different battlerifle, but I got that one signed by both Steve Downes and Jen Taylor.

The main thing left to do on the armor is adding the cummerbund around the side of the chest piece and some more weathering.

I found that canyon green gave me the color I wanted, but I'm not sure if it's easily available anymore.

Hey I'm working on the same armor using the DFT templates I am curious how you attached the straps on from the chest to the back plates as well as the straps over the shoulders

I used elastic straps and clips for the side, though I intend on making some side foam pieces to connect on the side since the templates don't include those.

I got some of these to connect the back and chest piece from the top.

I then used some wider elastic straps and hot glued them in place.

another question i have is how did you attach the shoulder plates?
I hot glued some elastic strips of fabric to the underside of the back piece. Then glued that to the shoulder.

Another way I've seen work really well is using t-straps and velcro.
