I finally got some time off school to work on the recruit armor this week. Deadline for my birthday is in a few weeks so I plan to finish the armor in a few weeks.
I'm having some trouble on the thruster part of the recruit chest piece. Looks like this hook part is connected to the rectangular part. I can't tell if it goes behind the hook part or on the sides
So far the pieces that are almost done are
Thruster part
Front chest part
And back parts
I have an idea to connect the side pieces with velcro straps soon
There's this method I use when working with hot glue I call the welding technique. It's like welding metal but except with a hot glue gun. Very helpful method for strong bonds in my opinion
Well the thruster part is now attached to the back part. Luckily, the velcro straps came with glue on the undersides.
Tomorrow's goal is to finish up everything then add the last remaining details and maybe a fit test. If the velcro holds
Couldn't get everything done today. Also did a test fit. I'm was trying to figure out how to attach the velcro right....
Adding both the sticky velcro and the fuzzy velcro did the trick.
Right now I'm cutting out the thigh patterns. It says on the file there's only a pattern for the left thigh. I'm guessing I flip the patterns around for the right one?

Im going to use white foam for most of the other parts because it's easier to see the pattern markings. Is the numbers on the foam length width height or length height width? Because it's very close to 8 mm when I checked
