Did you just want the floating faces moved out of the way or completly taken off?

Actually Scratch that, I got into working with it and made significant progress. I'll probably release it later tonight, Thanks though, For future unfolding references, You could probably move them a bit farther out.

Wait, There are quite a few open edges on it though, Forgot to mention.

Update!!!!

I got the unfold done, kept it pretty symmetrical. A few confusing spots i'll admit, but I tried making it as friendly as possible (since i'm gonna use it for my own costume) So here it is:

has anyone made a new shin yet? i know one has been posted but it wasnt very detailed. i believe the shin is all i need to have a complete suit.

is that you should not put double post but I noticed when downloading missing what would be the Rear and even asked a friend if he knew from somewhere and I just need to step it desarollarlo, someone would be my hero and deploy

here I leave the file:

Thank you. I'm very grateful for this

Would anyone by chance have a H4 BR with scope? Its just going to be a pain to try and model/find a separate one in the same scale ect. Even if its not unfolded, I can do that a get it posted back here.

Why is everyone pointing their guns at me. The people were too lazy but someone modeled it. For people who can't do foam to well or self model it is great. Who cares if it is "form fitting" just make it for the people who can't. I wonder how long it took him to make it. Thank you.

Link was broken the first few times I clicked...

I believe this falls under the official 405TH rules under the "unacceptable conduct" section as "Degrading posts" and "Destructive Criticism" . Take a read for yourself -

Degrading Remarks - Putting another member down for their work is a prime example for this.

Destructive Criticism - This falls very closely with Degrading Remarks, but more along the lines of criticizing another's work without offering some insight into how to fix or improve upon their efforts.

Here is the actual thread-

I don't want to seem like a jerk man , but if you are going to say that about all of the modelers and unfolders who are working hard with their spare time to provide you with files , I think they deserve more respect than that. Thanks for understanding -

I was looking through here, and noticed no one had done the spartan 4 chest piece currently, and I was wondering if it isn't too much trouble to request this said chest piece? I've got some reference images for the chest as well that can help out anyone willing and up to the challenge (I would do it myself, but I am still a beginner and learning the basics of 3D modeling).

A good one of the very front of the chest.

This one is mainly for the back, because it's the closest thing I can really find to the back in a large image. As you can see compared above the chest is different and I want the default if less difficult.

This is a pretty good one of the side straps connecting the front to the back.

And finally, a humongous thank you to whoever builds this. I will give you 100% recognition you deserve. I'm not too smart in unfolding things but if you can make the model I can try to do the unfolding for it. Thanks in advance 405th community!

Thats like all reference anyone need for the torso, Finally! we can see the back!
On a almost unrelated note. Do you think the purposely try to hide details from armor makers like us?

I thought it was the opposite once I found that Press Kit link I posted above. There are clear pictures of the back, sides, even some from below in pictures that weren't posted all over the Internet with the others for some reason. I am sure it was unintentional but you can build a model a complete set of Spartan IV armor from the high res screenshots, I believe.

I agree, you most definitely can.

I took the liberty of trying a super simple piece on the Spartan IV, so here you guys go:
knee.png

The knee .obj file: http://www.mediafire.com/?7oz5ow5c3aag225
The knee .pdo file scaled so you can print it, flip it, then print the second on the same page: http://www.mediafire.com/?5o9av0cceqzellq

So how'd I do? Should I try something more complicated? I'll only be doing the Spartan IV pieces, and I'll take suggestions for the next piece if anyone has one :)

How bout the basics?
Taking a look at the armor configuration, i'd say the best place to start is the forearms, shins, thighs, and back armor.
Then after creating the back portion, you can make it modular by using it as a basis to create the chest portion.

Kudos, and keep it up, yo!

Thank you jtm1997, sgp sgp for the reference pics. And thank you ziebster for the knee model.
