meh, i didn't really like the way they did the spider robots in Ghost in the shell, it's CG an I like it when it's hand drawn, it doesn't look like it's on completely different dimensions then.

I do have high hopes for the shorts though, the creators are really good at what they do.



if anything, they'll make sure it's badassary isn't lost XD

"The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Microsoft is producing a Halo anime series titled Halo Legends, which will be comprised of seven short films.



Not a lot of details about the story for the films have been revealed, but there were a few teases. Shinji Aramaki, a creative director working with Microsoft on the project, is creating his own short that will detail the history of the Spartan warrior class.



Another short from Studio4 C titled "Origins" is a two-part film, each 30 minutes long, which "tells the entire 100,000 year history of the Halo universe."



The films distribution is being handled by Warner Bros. and will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and through digital distribution in early 2010. Xbox Live fans can catch a preview on the anime this fall."



a 2 part anime totaling 1 hour long that tells the entire 100,000 year history of the Halo universe?! Hells yes!

Cool! I've been awaiting for something like this to come out. Really digging the armor designs...

I would have preferred Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Ninja Scroll, The Animatrix: Program) to direct it and with Yutaka Minowa's character designs but I liked what Aramaki did with Appleseed ex Machina so it should be good.

Just saw the trailers.



Definitely iffy on the power-armor Spartan with guns galore (that Adam linked) and of course the crotch rockets.



Still looking forward to it, but the phrase "Lore is dead" likes to run through my mind as I watch the trailer.

hmmm just saw the trailer. it's always been my personal "like" to want hand drawn over CG in alot of cases. there's just... a whole wider branch of appreciation seeing such complex work done by hand instead of CG. i'm not dogging CG either cause i don't HATE it, but when it comes to anime i don't like it to be half an half, it's either gotta be all CG or all hand drawn, they just move too differently to have together in the same field.

that's why i hate all those newer mobile suit anime's, but i ADORE Gundam Wing, cause in that series the mobile suits were all hand drawn with the characters themselves.



There were a alot clips in the trailer that made me raise an eyebrow in interest an others that made me raise an eyebrow in mild curiosity.. an not the good kind.

but overall, i'm very excited to see this come out.

i don't get any "the whole things gunna suck" kinda look from most comments in here.

they don't specify anything, but i think most of us get that it isn't all from the same person.



i'm still excited though, cause it's not just animation that makes a good product, it's the music, the voices, the action, the explosions! WHOO! lol
