Halo Legends - Origins Part 1

THIS is the one I was looking forward to.

But... How is it not possabble that they could get a hold of Jen Taylor? Surley with all the jobs in voice acting she get's she isn't THAT expensive?

EDIT: O shi-

So when 343 Guilty spark said to the chief "You ARE forrerunner" He meant EVERYTHING was forerunner!

She has been pretty busy in the past year doing game stuff. All it could have been was a day's clash, and that was it, no job for Jen.

A real shame, though, that they have seemingly never been able to get Jen or Steve in throughout Legends' production.

i love how they even include mendicant bias. this is easily the best one. its a shame the second half is in the dvd only.

This is great. All these years, ever since I heard of the forerunners, I had been waiting for something other than the same old "The forerunners were destroyed by the flood. This is all that is know of them" crap. It's ironic that this is coming out now, I've just started working on a machinima about the aftermath of the second time the halos were fired. Does anyone know what's supposed to be in the next one?

I was hoping the forerunner was humanoid like but not "humans".

Also I'm really humored that they used some flood concepts in this episode.

but this still does not explain how only humans and not any of the other species can activate forerunner tech

There can only be one Heir, and the Forerunners chose the Homo Sapiens to be their successors.

For people who are lazy I did from what I saw, the forerunner :D

Well, I was totally wrong about the Forerunner. When Chief was told "You are Forerunner", I thought that it meant that the human species were descendants from the original Forerunners. I guess this is kind of the same, but isn't as cool. I wonder why the fossil record doesn't show a cataclysmic event that took place on Earth like that. Although, it would explain the sudden emergence of human sentience a couple thousand years ago. Maybe the Forerunners tweaked our DNA a bit?

I was under the impression that the Forerunner had CREATED the Flood, not found it.

So, Halo(s) were designed to obliterate the Flood and all (sentient) life in the universe, which leaves a question floating in my head.

The Forerunners knew the dangers of the Flood. So, why were there Flood on the Halos? It sounds to me like the Forerunners made the exact same mistake you see in nearly every Zombie flick to date: some scientists discover/create a Zombie (like) disease, and rather then quarantine or destroy the subjects, they preserve them and study them. However, this seems to go against what the Forerunners were described as (wise, intelligent, and noble).

It seems like it was too simple a mistake to make.

You don't know?

They were samples taken to see if there was a cure for the flood incase they could find something to replace the halos. Sentinels aren't dumb robots they continued to work on the flood to see if they could find a cure.

Well, like I said, it falls under the same category of "Scientists doing something completely retarded". I see where you are coming from with the engineering a new weapon to fight the Flood, but is it really necessary to keep live specimens on hand? With a race as intelligent as the Forerunners, I really doubt they needed living specimens to determine if a bio-weapon or something along those lines would work.

If you wanted to truly be safe from the Flood, you need to find a way to dispose of them 100%, and by 100%, I mean completely destroyed (Incinerated). You really don't know if a dead infection form, carrier form, combat form, or Gravemind could still be infectious (I know it requires an infection form to infect, but you really shouldn't be banking on that).

It just seems to me like it was an all around bad idea to leave a few specimens still alive. If they had only kept the Flood on one of the Halos for examination, I'd be more accepting, but spreading the potential for infection all around the galaxy is just an all around terrible idea. I just can't believe that the Forerunner would make a decision that poor.
