Bungie has referred to them as Army Troopers several times, don't know what relation they are to Marines.

Here's a few more:

i didn't have a picture of the back, but since you just posted it i can continue :D

That black band on the helmet gives me the impression of the endor rebel helmet crossed with the Advanced warfare 2 helmet haha.

hmm, Im gonna try to make the helmet look more like the concept art

Might be related to the old CMA (Colonial Military Administration) that came before the UNSC, which is mentioned in the books a fair bit and on the halo wiki.

Feel free to correct me on this one: Even though it was a key planet, Reach was in the 'outer' colonies wasn't it? Which is where the CMA primarily operated in. That could explain their presence on reach, if in fact thats what bungie meant by "army trooper"

I can post everything I have in the morning if you need any more, I've been getting it together since my wife said she wants one for launch.

Reach is part of the inner colonies for sure. I think that this is part of the army reserve on reach. the marines are mostly stationed on naval ships and deployed to planets, while Army soldiers are stationed planet-side. Also it's no colonial military administration it's colonial malitia administration.

Yes, the spartan has a prosthetic arm, she's a main character in reach.

And the UNSC has various branches, the marines are from the naval branch, but there is also an army. Reach is predominately an army planet, so there are soldiers there not so many marines.

They're camo is either a greener version of Multicam or a dork green forest woodland camo

I'd say Multicam is closer. Woodland is too dark and its blotches are too large. One thing about this armor design is that it is a lot closer to shat you see actual soldiers wearing. Someone was paying attention to military gear when they designed this. It looks good, though, if a bit complicated to reproduce.

I may do this first before ODST, depending on how soon pep files can be created. Its a great suit to build. Im definately thinking multicam, and going coyote brown on the armor..

if you look closely the chest armor looks like odst chest armor, wich would make sense since odsts are trained on reach

In the UNSC, Army units are usually used as defensive units, while the Marines are offensive. (I think, I read it on B.net somewhere)
