Help with Elite Hands!

One of the only things I need help with for my upcoming costume (an Elite Honor Guard) is the hands. I don't know how to get the 4 fingers... Oh, and if you're a mod (maybe the same guy as last time) who for some reason thinks this is a WIP thread, it's not. I just need advice and help. Some guy closed one of my threads because he said "There weren't enough WIP pictures" even though I specifically said IT IS NOT A WIP THREAD!!! He's so annoying!!!

Calling the mods annoying isn't really the smartest thing to do, he said he'd reopen it if you got some pictures going. And as far as making an question thread, I don't really think that is allowed. You're gonna have to do a good bit of research yourself to make a full suit, and even more since you're making one that no one has as far as I know, finished. (at least the honor guard armor) Try checking around, also check out other prop forums and see how people make alien hands from the movie. Those can probably be edited to become elite hands.

Main point you need to know is don't make a thread specificly of just questions and answers, because that can get really annoying as well.

So far, you've started 3 threads just for specific questions pertaining to your Elite costume. That's more annoying than a Mod who's doing the right thing by trying to keep the forums clean and clutter-free. You've already been advised to create your own WIP thread, post pictures in it (because we don't care for only text of what you're doing), and feel free to ask question to your heart's content in that thread. That's how it works.

As for all your questions, not many people have made Elite costumes, so there's not that much info about it. I suggest either tracking down people who have built Elite costumes and sending them private messages, or (a novel idea), figuring it out on your own. That's half the fun of these builds is finding solutions to issues when they arise. Be pro-active, and don't expect everyone to give you all the answers on a silver platter.

The first thing that comes to mind for a human-sized costume is wearing four-fingered gloves that combine two of your fingers into one. You won't be able to exactly replicate an Elite's anatomy this way, but it's probably as close as you're going to get without making it super complicated.

Also: The last guy who spoke like this got banned for a month. You should really reconsider your statement and your general attitude towards this hobby. There's nothing wrong with asking questions, but you need to try and solve problems on your own, too. And in case you don't realise it, Ruze actually did you a favour by closing that last thread, because it had exceptional flamewar potential. Just like this one.

(Edit: Anyone wonder why I'm writing the same thing as Spitfire? That's because Spitfire can type faster than me!)

When you pull the strings, you'll "flex" the fingers and it will extend your arm by quite a bit.

Thats the thing with this hobby. Possibles are endless and its up to you to find whats best. we can only guide along the way, no hand holding here. I hope you dont think we are all trying to insult you. We are just trying to get you on that right path. Ruze has the Ban Hammer in his signature for a reason by the way.

Im not going to recommend anything advance for your question. For you first build, start simple. Just make finger caps to cover your fingers. Place on over your middle and ring fingers and one on each your thumb index and little fingers. In essence the same thing ventrue said.

Well, yeah, it's better when you think of you're own ideas. It's just my only idea for hands was to sew 2 fingers on gloves together, but that would be kinda stupid and not look good. I could extend them... Now how do I delete this thread? Everybody's hating me now...

I'm going to tell you the same thing I told that mod: I'm not posting pictures because this ISN'T A WIP THREAD!!!!!!!!!! I'm just getting some advice and stuff!!! If you don't like it then leave!

Maybe in 2 weeks you'll follow the rules that have been posted on the site. There's no problem at all with this thread, it's the other 3 threads that don't follow them.

But sending PMs to the Staff filled with insults about how we enforce the rules, that's unacceptable. Follow the rules, have no trouble here. Break rules and then sling insults at us, not gonna fly.
