Herp Derp Chief... -.-

Well I had my first experience trying to pep a Mark VI helm for Halloween... I don't know if it is my papercraft skill or if it is my first time, but my Mark VI turned into Herp Derp Chief... Is this even salvageable? Would tons of bondo possibly repair this or is it a lost cause...

Side note: This is a confidence booster for anyone who thinks their build is horrible...

Its not as bad as my helmet.......Its made of molded plastic and it isn't anywhere near symmetrical.

In person, it looks like I threw glue at some paper... My cardstock was very stubborn with wanting to connect with parts... Many,many openings.

What weight card stock did you use? Anything really less than 100lb will not give you the desired result you want.

I have to agree... looks much better than my first few helm peps... It looks like you could have made some of the folds a bit tighter, but all in all not bad for a first build. Also, It being a med deff file, it's not going to have as many folds as the HD helm, making it less smooth looking to begin with.

I like the way it looks. If all else fails just get it looking decent and make it a mantle piece.

Guess I set my standards a little too high, All the builds on 405th are amazing. I think I can get a good result after some bondo, I doubt anyone would go into extreme detail if I use it for a costume.

And yours can be amazing too. Everyone has to start somewhere after all... As long as you have fun working on it, thats all that matters. Just take your time, practice safety, and strive to achieve a little bit more, and you'll be amazed at what you will create.

It looks amazing, better then my first pep... the only advice I would like to give with all my "experience" in prop making. (yeah.. like I've got experience). If you don't feel confident that this one will work out, then don't use it, doubt is killing... Make new ones until you are actually feeling that it might work out nice.

btw... I always liked this pep over other MkVI peps, or MkVI helmets in general, because it's one of the few that has a Bulbuous Visor, instead of al the flat ones... Not that the flat ones don't look great, but they're just not quite the MkVI as you'd expect... anyone agreed?

It looks good for your first piece. You didn't exactly pick something easy to start with Resin the outside, rondo up the inside and see where your at then.
