How do I make my Carter build less iron deficient and janky?

Hello all,
I’ve recently been working on converting a previous build on the Mark V (B) frame to Noble 1, Carter.
While I’m quite happy with how my paint and helmet has turned out for the conversion, I want to solve the issue of it not LOOKING like a Spartan when I wear the armor. I don’t think it’s a body size issue since I’m 6 foot 5 220 pounds, but more of a structural thing.

Have you ever had this issue before/ do you know a way to fix it?

It just doesn’t look like there’s much mass. For example, the shoulders are just a lot of empty space and I’m wondering how to fill it.

A picture is worth a thousand words but if I had to sum it up... The armor looks so big that it makes you look small. I would never have guessed you to be 6'2, 220. I was thinking 5'10", 180 just by the picture.

The width of the torso seems so wide that I bet you couldn't put both arms out straight in front of you. It looks like the 'pocket' of your shoulder joint is WAY inside the armor.

And that... shield off the bicep is mounted in a way that pushes it further away from your body. Maybe that's game-accurate but its not what i would consider "real-world wearable" which is a big consideration I stress a lot. Do you want to be like the game, or do you want to be real world? I would *HATE* to try to wear that at a convention with those sticking out as wide as anime wings: Just banging into every other cosplayer on the convention floor. Can they be tilted inward or something? Maybe a 45° so they look like they are protecting your upper armor & shoulder; and at the same time consume all that open space?

I don't know what you were using as a reference for the build... And I don't know Carter personally... but when I do a quick google, the figures and photos show a much tighter build, almost like the guy is too big for the armor. So for a cosplayer that would be more like making armor that is almost too small for your body to show how big you are.

I agree with the torso width, and I think that’s a lot of the problem. I can not in fact stick my arms straight out and I really thought that was normal . Only concern is my neck is too wide if I scale it all narrower, but maybe I just need better files. As for the bicep shield, I was thinking I may just cut away the bicep armor on one face so that the shield is more flush with the armor.

I’m honestly thinking I should just remake the torso entirely- it was a lot of work but I’m really seeing the issues show and it’s a relic of old techniques.

Other than the width, are there any other obvious sizing issues that could be fixed?

You can't *scale it all* - not with armor. You're going to need to do disproporationate and freeform adjustments to fit your body.
For example, I am way barrel chested and wide ribs so I always have to do a more trapezoidal adjustment of my torso parts and pull out the bottom to accommodate a wide rib cage without widening the shoulders and getting blockage like you've got there.

I don’t think I’ve used that feature on armorsmith- gonna have to look into that.

In the meantime- made some adjustments to the shoulder plate and the foam “seal” that was protruding from the side of the torso- might mitigate it
Post adjustment I CAN in fact move my arms to the front- the seal was a recent addition and something I think was preventing it from looking right or getting full ROM
