How would I begin this?

Hi I'm new here and I really want to make armor before the release of Halo 3 so I've decided it's going to be made of Cardboard, because I tried pepakura and its hell for me.


So my question is, how would I start this? What do I need?


I'm trying to make it look like the one that this guy made:

He also has an assault rifle, which I would like to learn how to make, but that's for later.


All help is greatly appreciated.

(oh, Im only 14 and about 4 foot 5 inches if that helps at all)

ok so how do I do this? do I find a 3D model of the chiefs head? because it only took this guy 3 days but it looks really complicated.


I how much cardboard I would need...

It depends... :\... It looks like he used thinner cardboard in certain areas...

Same here. I just couldnt believe that he did that all with cardboard. it looks freaking awesome. So I guess Im gonna need plenty of cardboard

just take your time and plan everything out. that is how great armor is made

Are there any specific tools that I need? I'm planning to go to Michael's next weekend and I wanna have a list ready.

I have made cardboard sculptures before with only a knife and duct tape. No special tools required, although an exacto kife is more usefull than a kitchen knife.

Man I wish the guy who made that armor made a tut on how to do it. Oh well. Next Week we'll see how I do.

Ok so I know how I'm gonna put it together but how do I design each piece and how they fit with each other...I dont know if that makes sense.

that makes sense, sorta fit as you go. that is how I am building my wood helm but same concept.
