Ok. This is pretty cool looking. Just a test using EL wire for the eyes. (You can NOT see through it. I just put paper in the eye slots so it would look right. Im probably going to use a white mesh material for the eyes.

do you know if there are any green light like these for my Hellgate London helmet ?
i saw those blue ones at wal-mart but no green

Thats where i got this EL wire. It's actually for my energy sword I haven't finished.


In other news, I just cast the ears from my first mold ever! It actually wasnt that hard. I expected to fail miserably. Anyways here are the few pics. The green one is the original. It was a lid to a lantern we have. All i have to do is fill the open close thing and add the detail on top of it. Im really pleased with the way the casts came out.

UPDATE!!

I would wait a few days til it got looking a bit better but I'm afraid the next update wont be til around next sunday or monday. I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a week long cruise to the bahamas and wont be able to work on the helmet (I'm not complaining )

Basically I've started on the detail lines and ive drilled out and counter sunk the holes for the flat head screws. I still have a lot to go but I get closer and closer to finishing every day.

how do you guys give your helmets such softness so that it even reflects light

do you use more than resin and body filler?or is it alot of sanding?
