Hey Juice, did you model it yourself? If did could you point me towards a tutorial or something for Blender or some kind of 3D design program? So far i made a cube.... and that's nothing close to the Gundam Exia's head i was aiming for. Sorry to bother you, but you seem like the most knowledgable person in the design area from the stuff you made.

No bother. Yes I did the model and unfolding. I'm more than likely, not the most knowledgable. There are some excellent modelers here and I'm still somewhat of a beginner. I've never got into Blender because I wasn't comfortable with the interface, but when I was looking in to it, there are tons of tuts and helpful people at blenderartists.org/forum/ and alot of tuts here- http://www.blender.org/education-help/tutorials/ .

Juice you are a Lifesaver. no seriously, that stuff helped a lot. I'm currently working on modeling these monsters:

the GN-001 Gundam Exia:

http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/GN-001_Gundam_Exia

and its predecesor, the GNY-001 Gundam Astraea:

http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/GNY-001_Gundam_Astraea

i'm using the 1/100 scale models i built and when i heard you guys were working on an RX-78-2 pep, i kinda hit the ground running with the idea of making one of these. By the way, what program do you use if you don't like Blender?

I use a few different programs, but I use Metasequoia the most. It's an amazingly versatile program to be so easy to use. How far have you got on the model?

Sorry for temporarily hijacking the thread.

That's my favorite Gundam Exia! I so want to do this one some day!!! Have you found anyone else that has done pep files for the whole body, that's probable why your working on the modeling huh? LOL!!

@ Juice: i won't be able to do any more work until sunday, homecoming tomorrow and i don't have anything for it. but i watched a few tutorials, so prgress should move along quickly once it starts. and again, thanks for the link to the tutorials.

@ Drahkir: no one has done ANY pep files for gundam so far but the guys on this thread. and yes, Exia pwns.

give me a week or two to start full modelling of the Exia. I'll save the base design of the arms and legs since its the same on both Gundams, as well as most of the upper and lower torso. Weapons will be worked on when the Gundams are done. i'm not confident enough to give time estimates, but rest assured, i'll post a "Gundam 00 pep files" thread with the models that need to be unfolded. and i too am sorry for hijacking the thread.

I would give my right foot for a good RX-79(G) pep file but it's damn hard to beat the original. Good job! Love to see further work on it.

I too would love that.

Working on a scratch build for that same model as we speak...may need to outsource to a 3d modeler/unfolder for a helm though.

The RX-79 IS a classic, and a well loved one, i'll give you that. But I was a Gundam Wing fanboy all the way, and Gundam 00 returns the idea of specialty Gundams: sniper, melee, air superiority, and heavy weapons. But the RX-79 has been officially placed as #3 on the list of models to make.

Haha, yes toonami was my first gundam haven back in the day. Heavyarms custom would be fun. Or an old-school Shenlong or Tallgeese 1.

Zero Custom would be a PITA to make but I'd love to see one.

Wing Zero would be EPIC to make, but the only problem with trying to make files for it would be the "Wing"-like units attacked to the back. they'd have to be attached in some way that would enable them to still move.

You'd be better off just modelling the body itself and letting whoever actually built it to just go off of refernece pics to build the wing units. Not something you'd want to make out of pep anyways.
