Here's today's update. I've attached the shoulder bells, and as you can see the whole thing is quite a bit wider than I am - so my arms will have to go into the bicep pieces at an angle. I have a bit more foam to add to the front of the torso so it sits forward further over the shoulders, but here are all the finished pieces so far:

I know this is a bit too early to tell, but what do you think the mobility of it is going to be like? It's looking great though!

I'm hoping the shoulder bells will be high enough that I can move my arms around a fair bit without touching them, although the biceps are going to be a challenge. It's really the legs that I'm worried about ;-)

No kidding! I'm sure you'll figure it out though... Maybe you can do it based off of how we strap the legs on a Spartan MVl armor?

Probably - I think they'll have crossed-over-the-shoulder straps, but it depends how I cut them and how close they fit to the pelvis that worries me a little - so there aren't large gaps, but I can still walk... and still put my legs together (otherwise I'll end up like Michelin man)

this is definitley on my to-do list, after i finish my halo suit, i will begin pepping one of these. this looks fantastic!
can't wait to see the finished suit.

Lol, I saw the pictures before I read your post and the first thing I thought was "Holy crap, that guy is skinny!" Realized a bout 2 seconds later that it was a mannequin.

As for critiques, your left shoulder bell looks like it could use some more smoothing in the recessed area. That, along with making sure that the neckseal actually goes all the way up to your helmet, is all I can see that needs fixing. Lookin' real good so far!

Lol, I saw the manequin and thought, "that's a weird undersuit he's got there..."
I really like whatever it is you're using as a neckseal.

Here's today's update of the raw castings of the legs. They are both made from Jesmonite, as all the parts will now be, with glass fibre surface tissue and chopped strand mat laid up.

I'll be cutting them about at the top so they are lower in the middle and fit underneath the pelvis part which will be made next:

Very nice X... how soon will you be able to paint it?

We just had the heaviest snow in the UK for 18 years, and maybe more on the way. I do all the sanding outdoors with power tools mostly, so not much chance of that in the next few days at least. There will be quite a lot of smoothing out to do before painting...

Snow? Crap, that sucks. Cold weather is slowing me down on my projects as well... at least it'll give me time to pep more of my Ironman pieces.
