Yes the wooden patterns were made by hand, but not by me.
A freind of mine, knows a pattern maker and I gave him my
orginal screen used armor to take measurements off of.
He made the wooden patterns and also made the vacuum formed
molds.

Can that friend make me a mold ;-)

Bah, they really screwed with the book when they made that movie.
It had its own appeal, but it wasn't what Heinlein would have approved of.

In the book they were actual exoskeletons, much more like Starcraft Marines with jump jets than lightly armored foot soldiers, and definitely not something that fought in groups- in the book, they were elite soldiers who went jumping in on raids to destroy specific enemy installations and infrastructure.

Nice costume, though.

I agree, I loved the book and the movie fell way way short of being good
The computer anaimation series was a bit more closer to the book

Happy to hear that everyone likes the armor
the silicone mold for the helmet died a quick death
but I can still make at least two sets of body armor
with the parts on Hand

I've always wanted a set of Starship armor... I've always loved that movie... even though some say it's not as good as the book, I'm a big fan of it.

Great work on this! :notworthy:
