as you can see there are to small holes....thats because it near impossible to add that piece so im going to just put a scrap of cardstock in there and detail it later with a dremel. the back looks WAY better this time my old was really warped. ill be adding more details to itand the Mark v helm later with foampaper and cardboard. Sgt.Striker is gonna come over and help i think.

Edit: yay page 2

Yeah! That's looking good, buddy. Is Sgt Striker going to be helping you with the resining/fiberglassing and bondo work? :unsure

P.S., Congrats on your WiP thread making it to Page Two!

Hey great work! I love Caboose, and I'm happy to see a really good suit bein' made.

PS - Definitely Andy the Bomb. Then you can do one of Caboose's best set of lines:

Caboose: "Andy? OH ... MY ... GOOOD! AANNNDDY! You're dead! How ... could ... this ... haappeen! You were soo yoouung! You had sooo much to live for! So much exploooding to doooo!" (Sorry, off topic, I know. Did I mention that I do a mean Caboose voice?)

So my plans with Sgt.Striker got delayed till yesterday. So i now have most of the detailing done on the back of the helmet and started on some for the AR. Here's my first little tut i tried to do for quick, easy and cheap heatsinks for the HD torso.

Awesome detail on the back of the helmet there! Looks a little like a grunt mask.... Also, sorry to say, your screenshots aren't showing up.

Anyway, GREAT WORK ON THIS. And for my pink Spartan kneeing you in the balls on an empty sandbox XD

Keep working hard, bro! Anything else you need help with, I'm off on tuesdays and wednesdays now :) Once we get my transmission figured out, that is. Unless you wanna pick me up in that gorgeous blue '06 Elantra GT hatchback, which is perfectly fine by me ;D

Hey Dude, It really looks good.....heckuva lot better than your old armor...But kudos, dude...

I am about done putting primer on my armor befroer i repaint it to be donut.....Do you know when you'll be done with putting electronics in the helmet so i can pick it up and work on painting it?

im coordinating with the guy now darth. so heres the top lego connection on the torso i decided not to get the buckles due to the price. the right side is slight miss aligned so it hard to snap but other wise they work great. m torso is slightly to small i think it needs to be half way between my old on and this one. but with a little trimming it'll work. pixs in morning since photo bucket is taking forever.

So then Saturday i meet up with Contagion: Outbreak and he helped me figure out the voice amp for my helmet. we hung out at the DK lego Star Wars book release they were doing. He's the scout hiding in the back.

I have tomorrow and Tuesday off so ive decided starting tomorrow after i finish my morning appointments and order a visor that beyond my evening classes both days im going to do a 2 day Bondo blitz. Im going to try to get most of the bondo finished and get the legos in the shins. ill be going roughly 12-5 and then 930-11 both days so about 13 hours. im going to finish my Dragon ball marathon hopefully, im on GT so i think i will. ill post periodically as i do a dust purge from the shed

Wow dude! I gotta come over tomorrow to see what we can do, I get off of work at 12 so I should be over after a quick trip to the Army Surplus store ;D Need me to help with bondo sanding or anything? Everything looks awesome so far, but the one question i have is about the lego connectors...you sure that's gonna be strong enough to hold it up?

Finally had time to update with 1 week till Nebraskon the final blitz begins!

That's looking fantastic! Can't wait to see it completed, though I'd have used the EOD chestplate as it's got a close resemblance to the Mk V chest plate (in my opinion anyway)

What did you mean by the voice amp in your helmet? any chance you could throw up a diagram or explanation? Im curious!

Contagion: Outbreak told me how to do it, here's his explanation. For basic wiring of a comm system (external speaker) contained in a helmet we generally get the generic Radio Shack voice amp (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062620) and remove the case. We then remove the large speaker from inside it (but if you have more space in your helmet you may not need to do this) and replace it with two in serier 8 ohm speakers (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062406). I have rigged a helmet with two amplifiers before, but you really only need one. You then need a place to mount the amplifier and speakers. To complete it you need a powered microphone (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102927) to speak into. The trick is eliminating feedback, which really isn't too difficult if you set up your helmet right

hope this helps
